General Fishing Tips / Re: Lifetime Fishing License at age 62?
« on: February 22, 2025, 09:02:50 AM »
Still worth it if you move out of state and come back to fish 10ish days or something like that. The lifetime hunting license is a good deal too if you move out of state and hunt deer.

Cuyamaca is pretty high up and inland so it will be a lot colder than the coastal options.

What a kook. Maybe don't frantically/erratically paddle away?

Combine it with the lobster closer and you've hedged your bets. Both nighttime activities though...

Yes, they're open to the public and streamed.

You can get a sense for what they are like from the recordings (e.g. last April's):

That should be fine. I have a Trailex SUT with single leaf springs and I have towed my scull boat (150# fiberglass) on many gravel and dirt roads across California and Nevada-- Forest Service, BLM, NDOW, FWS, etc. The fenders do a decent job of fending off rocks from below. A kayak hull's polymer is going to be a lot more forgiving than rigid fiberglass unless it's compromised by UV exposure or something.

All tributaries of the Napa River are closed to fishing.

They removed the cab/greenling size limit to make the filleting-at-sea regs consistent across the RCG complex after the PFMC stock assessments were strong.

How many miles on your 4Runner? Is the transmission slipping? Besides the transmission and doors those mostly seem like wear maintenance items. If you sell it, you'll likely get a ton of interest. My wife's old 4Runner needed a new engine and it still sold like hot cakes within a couple hours of listing.

I wouldn't get a Tacoma if you are prioritizing fuel economy and towing. Tacoma MPG is pretty terrible for its size, at least up to third gen.

Check out Polosub. You can get a custom lined open-cell 7mm for ~$250.

I've got one in Pacifica by the pier if you are heading southbound before baitshops open.

Salmonids are generally not susceptible to barotrauma because they can purge air from the swim bladder to the stomach.

Landing/not handling matters much more. I've seen pictures of some clowns manhandling dozens of LCT with lip grippers and putting the fish on deck at Pyramid. Allegedly like, 70 fish in one trip. Now that's high mortality CnR.

B-b-b-but the sediment!
