General Fishing Tips / Re: 20 Fathom Line Install« on: May 03, 2024, 10:36:39 PM »
Alot of good info there Mark, thanks for that!
I did end up getting a new Lowrance Eagle 5 Splitshot… It was the most popular # on google. 000-16111-001 Found it for $307 out the door online! 5-6 days out. I’ll be adding the 20/50 fathom lines on that for sure, should be easy peasy on that one. Get that Ling Cod yet? Scotty 3
General Fishing Tips / Re: 20 Fathom Line Install« on: May 03, 2024, 12:36:47 PM »I really think the SD Slots are poorly designed and easy for corrosion to ruin it. Should still try another card just in case it's the card being the issue.Hey Al , I did just that and nothing … Lowrance , in March came out with a new Eagle series. Supposed to be the best and easiest to use… yada yada yada-$350 for the 5” ??? Scotty 4

General Fishing Tips / 20 Fathom Line Install« on: May 01, 2024, 09:50:50 PM »
Hey NCKA
I’m trying to import the 20 Fathom Line in my Lowrance Elite 5Ti With a micro card,I’ve used an 32 GB and an 8 GB card . Both times no command comes up showing the card has been read. Is not in files either. also the Wireless says it’s connecting and connected. Trying the online download, it always will not stay connected. So do you think the card reader is toast? If it is, is the unit garbage if I want to have the 20 Fathom line on my FF? Depth and chart work fine. Any chance someone has run into this issue? Also are most people putting it on their FF? General Fishing Tips / Re: Descender Weight« on: April 30, 2024, 06:51:06 PM »
Last year I had a huge Yellow eye and it laughed at the 1lb ball I had on. Ended up using my whole weight bag to get that biggin down!
Now I have a 2 lb ball and another 2pounder ready to snap on if needed! Scotty 7

I was looking at the 20 fathom line on the Fish and wildlife's website and was a little confused.
As we know 20 fathoms is 120 ft The map shows at Ft Ross it looks like the line is about 150-155 ft. So is 120 or 155 the line? Scotty 11

General Talk / Open Faced Crab Sandwich!« on: March 27, 2024, 12:33:11 PM »
Heyy…
Been nursing a minuscus repair and got the ok to snare for a bit … So went to Cambell cove in Bodega on tues and had plenty of action early on but all were shorts , reds and dungie’s. Was lucky to run into a buddy who gifted me a couple Dungies so We put them to good use, Fresh crab last nite and for lunch I tweeked my opened face Crab sandwich recipe, Man I glad I did cause it was delicious!!! The pics say it all! Pretty easy too Took enough crab for a sandwich , added mayo, graded cheddar cheese, salt and pepper, and 5-6 drops of Bachan’s BBQ sauce, mix it up and spread heavy on a ciabatta roll, sprinkled with Bacon Bits on top. Spray with avacado oil on both sides. Air fry 3 min @375* twice, Drizzle fresh lemon after cooking! And enjoy I used garlic earlier but omitted it this time because of the burnt garlic flavor that can occur when air frying… I might try it with diced shrimp sometime? But with the crab, amazing!
