well today was supposed to be the day, but stayed up to late messing with this new fish finder and ran out of time. So i ended up playing nine holes of golf. would have rather gone fishing. So no report. The reason i wanted to launch out of new brighton was to head towards santa cruz and coast back. seems easier and i am real big on, should we say convenience. I paid my dues enough. Even though, i still look forward to that first roll in the surf that catches me by surprise. YEAH BABY!! little disappointed though, cause my next day off isn't till mon/tues. maybe we can yak sometime soon fish flogger. I am right down the street in salinas. Great to go out with someone with some experience.

got all the safety and electronics covered. my inner core is all pumped up and ready to go. got the wet suit ready. everything tied down and ready for any unexpected roll. just add water and fish. bang! I thought that it was more of a protected cove in that area from bigger surf???

:smt006. Most definetly Bill. I will speak to her this evening and will post you tonight or first thing in the morning. I hope she can be of assistance. I think we all know someone who we love dearly that has been affected by cancer. I went to the "relay for life" for the first time here in salinas. Sponsored by The american Cancer Society. It is very heart warming and uplifting!!           Bulldog

Kayaks / Re: people kayaking on the ocean with kayaks under 14ft?
« on: July 20, 2007, 01:25:02 PM »
Well in that case, there is no need for a boat as long as 13'. An Ocean Kayak Frenzy is historically appropriate. Though it's a sit inside, a Perception Dancer is also a great kayak for the southern San Mateo coast. It ought to be fine in Monterey. Here's one cheap: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/boa/372600452.html

Doesn't look like much of a fishing boat

When power boating, I usually launch from moss landing. I find it always easier to heads towards santa cruz for an easier ride back. Would probably try to follow the same rule in a kayak.
