I am looking for a campsite if one is still available as well.  Thanks.

Yup, I’m on it. Check your PMs/emails. As I see 18 guests are currently viewing this thread, we’ll take the camping logistics offline. :-)

I stopped by the campground today and chatted with Cam. There are lots of open campsites available, so I didn’t reserve one. Price went up to $47/night. Cash only, reminder.

I’ll be bringing a bunch of organic tomatoes to share, bring a container if you’d like some.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

I am disappointed beyond comprehension that I won't be able to come to the derby.  This stupid thing called work.  I had been so looking forward to this event for so long.

In a glass half full perspective, by this time next year, I should be either very close to or will be retired.  So, I will not have to bail out again.

You all have fun and slay them!

I was registered, but some urgent things came up at home so I didn't make it.

How did it go?
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Some BIG Halibuts were caught today.

Thanks Adam and MBK crew for the Derby. Was a good time. The few Halibut that were caught were monsters, and the cod bite was hot. Got the raffle prize I was going for, gotta get the Hali one next year. See ya then.   :smt001

Trolled deeper water to Tioga st. then come in and worked depths from 40-70.  Had an impressive catch of good quality rockfish, 5 vermillion, one quillback, a 30" ling, and I'm pretty sure a small boccacio. That ling gave the only hope of the day for a good fish, and I swore all the way up it was a halibut  :smt044. Thanks Adam and MBK for keeping the dream alive.  So enjoy getting together on the beach meeting new people at the launch.  Then coming back to tell tales of the day while consuming food and drink and googling over giant halibuts.  it's the stuff life is made of. those butts were biggest I've seen in person.

I fished right off the mbk launch in 40-60 ft. I landed two halibut and a handful of lingcod and also missed a few bites, with only one of those I could say was likely a hali. The halibut I took to the weigh station was 18lbs, the other was released as it was on the smaller side. Check out the 39lb monster that got 1st!

Had a great time at my first MBK tournament.

Trolled lucky crafts out to around 80-85 FOW off Tioga St. 7 lings and 2 verm on my way there. Pick up 20+ sand dabs for the in-laws, found some squid and jigged up about 15 for bait. Trolled around 50-70 FOW the remainder of the morning, until headlining, only 2 solid takedowns that didn't stick.

Big thank you to Adam and crew at MBK, fun event, I'll be back next year.
