It should only be required to be ‘available for immediate use’ during the deep-water season/months.

Easily the worst paddling tandem I’ve ever used. Good luck making it go straight. Why not get the standard Malibu 2?

For Sale / 2013 OK Prowler 13 for $450
« on: July 20, 2024, 11:38:02 AM »
Selling my old 2013 Prowler 13 for $450 w/seat & paddle. It’s 13ft long but only weighs about 65lbs. So its easy to carry around but it paddles really well. Near-mint condition. It has the molded-in center hatch, which was only made for a few years. The molded hatch limits access to the interior of the hull—but I honestly think it makes the kayak paddle better, because it’s more structurally rigid and doesn’t flex. Located in Marina, near Monterey.

I have these Hobie SideKicks for $120. I took them off a Revo 11 that I recently purchased. They’re in great condition (just need a rinse & wipe). Includes the attachments & well nuts. Located in Marina, near Monterey.

Introductions / Re: Newbie in Pacific Grove

The Ultra 4.7 (and or 4.3) were good kayaks. Ocean Kayak only produced them for a few years, based on a popular design in New Zealand. I owned a 4.3 for a while and won a 4.7 in the MBK tourney, back in 2015. The 4.7 paddles ok but needs a rudder in my opinion. Because the way the hull is built, it is very succeptible to wind. And it’s pretty heavy.
I may have to sell my Prowler 13 soon, if interested. Its in good condition, yellow, circa 2014 model. I’m in Marina if you want to check it out. Also have this yak for sale right now: https://monterey.craigslist.org/boa/d/marina-2016-predator-13-kayak/7754348272.html

General Talk / Re: Any fad diets for Hobies? Asking for a friend.
« on: June 10, 2024, 09:47:40 PM »
I just bought a 2019 Revo 11 & 13 and they are really easy to carry around…the weight was a big factor why I wanted another Revo. They’re pretty light compared to most of my other kayaks.
Also, I’m gonna need to sell some yaks to make room now…probably the OT Predator 13 and OK Prowler 13.

Hobie Kayaks / Re: 2015 Adventure Rudder line repair/Replacement
« on: May 20, 2024, 12:52:32 PM »
I would try to wiggle the rudder control back & forth (left & right) while pulling the rudder up/down cord, to get it to work. If the rudder control is all the way left or right, it has trouble going up or down. ;-)

General Talk / Re: boat on fence viral
« on: May 13, 2024, 10:48:04 AM »
I love how this is going viral. The artist Hanif is a good friend of mine and totally deserves the praise/exposure for his work… And the fact it’s Etienne’s boat is perfect. Plus it’s very timely because this wknd was Gimme Shelter and he was one of the original group back in 2007 or whenever. We carpooled up in his minivan and it snowed on the pass because it was earlier in the year and we were meeting up for the salmon opener.

Taco Shack shenanigans!

Thank you Eric for organizing a world-class event that brings together our crazy/kind/enthusiastic/diverse community of kayak fishin weirdos! It felt good to be back in the place that means so much to so many of us. After a long 4-year hiatus, it’s reaffirming to see friends doing well and having fun again, together. Even if we all look a little older than I remember haha…
