For Sale / 2004 Toyota Tundra for sale - Pics added
« on: February 24, 2025, 08:58:44 AM »
Selling my 04 Tundra Limited Double Cab. 4.7 V8. 200K miles. Just passed smog. New battery, alternator, catalytic. She's definitely showing her age and isn't as pretty as when I bought her but its straight with only scratches and clear coat issues in a few spots.  She's a great runner. No leaks and doesn't burn oil. Listing at $6k but will come down for NCKA. I'll get pics up soon.
Kevin

I'll get some interior shots tonight.
Note: this is rear wheel drive. Not a 4x4!

Wolf94 and I are hitting the forebay this Sunday 10/27. Planning to launch 7am. Received word that the Striper are hitting big time with frequent boils on and off all day. Lots of small ones but if you put in your time, keepers can be had.

General Talk / Upgraded my fleet today!
« on: October 05, 2024, 03:57:00 PM »
While still super happy with my FeelFree Moken 12.5V2, Friday I came across a deal that I couldn’t pass up. Headwaters Adventure in Redding had a 2024 Old Town Big Water ePDL 132 on sale. Drove up there from Sacramento this morning. This yak is freakin awesome.  May get it on the water tomorrow if I can get it all set up tonight. If not, for sure next weekend. SUPER STOKED!!!!!                                I was thinking of selling the Moken but have decided to keep her. She has been a fish catching machine as those of you that have fished with me know. I know I’d regret it if I turned my back on her.  Probably hitting Sly Creek next weekend if anyone is interested in joining me.       Kevin

Come get some! The camp sites at Sly Creek are First come-First served. No Reservations. However, this shouldn't be an issue. Only time I've ever seen the camp sites full are on holidays. The Kokanee are still on the chew and plentiful. May have to search around a bit for Rainbows, but there's a ton of them too. There's Bass and Pan Fish and Crawdads willing to bite as well. May go up Friday night. If not, we'll be there early Saturday morning. Obviously we don't know what site we'll be in. Just give us a shout out on Ch.69.

A few members are heading up to Sly Creek for Kokanee and Trout. Wasn't to sure about going on labor day weekend but I found out that the boat ramps are out of the water and there is a small drop off at the end of it. That means that the ski boats and lake lice will not be able to launch without some difficulty and risk. This bodes well for the Kayakers as we can team up and cart or carry the Yaks down. Reports from last week indicate that they are still on the chew and still relatively shallow (45') as compared to the other local lakes (100'+).
Planning to launch between 7-8am. Ch.69
Come get sum!

A few of us have decided to to change things up and leave the kayaks at home. We are planning to hunt for Surf Perch on Sat 8/10 somewhere in the bay area. Not sure where yet. Thinking Muir, Baker, China or Gray Whale beaches. If anyone has gone lately, any pointers on what direction to go would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Kevin.
If  anyone feels like joining us, you're more than welcome to!

Several of us are headed back up there after work on Friday. Should arrive between 6-7pm. Maybe enough time for a short session in the evening, then hit'em hard Saturday morning. All are welcome to join the slay fest!
I know there are several new members that have expressed interest in learning how to Kokanee fish. Well here's your chance.
Feel free to reply here or send a pm for details.

Anyone have a hoist they are not using? Thought I'd check here before hitting Amazon.

The Kokanee are calling me! The weather will be perfect. Several of us will be launching at Dark Day at 8am. If you need a fix, come on up and join us. We'll be on Ch69.

A few of us are hitting Amador this Sunday. Launch about 9:00. Starting off trolling but may end up banking it if we find them stacked up in a cove. Ch.69

General Talk / CDFW to Begin Offering 365-day Fishing Licenses for 2023
« on: October 10, 2022, 08:54:44 AM »
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will begin selling 365-day fishing licenses far sooner than expected, thanks to extensive efforts by staff to expedite sales. Beginning November 15, 2022, California anglers will be able to purchase a 2023 fishing license that will take effect on January 1, 2023, and last the entire year. All licenses purchased on or after January 1, 2023, will be effective from the date of purchase for a continuous 365 days. About frikin' time!

I'm in need of a down rigger. Hoping that someone out there has an extra laying around that they'd be willing to part with.
