They had no joint property, The car they owed on, she traded in on a new car, eliminating that joint debt. 2 years 2 months marriage. Looking for money to pay off a wedding ring she sold and spent money instead of paying it off. Dinners he took her to. 1/2 the divorce cost that she ran up with a lawyer., (paralegal) Her friend. Probably did it for free and got $$$ from her dad to spend on other stuff. Threw the entire marriage all her money was kept separate. His money was spent by her till he had to borrow $ for gas to get to work. one bitch with expensive taste! ($300.00 jeans!) Frustrating :smt011

I'm not legal, but had divorce experience 10 years ago. it sounds she is asking to cover her legal fees and joint debt. - if it was not mentioned in divorce settlement 1.5 years ago she can only ask... usually court will not owner such requests unless she can prove that your son did not mentioned some assets during divorce (also it's hard to push to the court).

Hi,

as usual recently I'm late to the party.:)

IMHO: the buying property is the right long term solution if you are ready to stay in this place and area for long time. I agree it's not investment, it's changing your life stile (probably 3rd after fishing and moving from single to married life). I would say some pathetic things about properties:

1. look for area and do not expect to have healthy raises many years in a row so you may stuck there for more than 5 years.
2. do not think that tax saving from mortgage will increase your income - you'll have to pay property taxes, inssurance and maintanance.
2. The hardest part to know your budget and be able to say stop to themseve and agent. it will be always nicer area and property just 50K more...

loans:
1. HOA - just had dinner with my friends and after own home for 7 years they are looking back to moving to condo and give HOA to care about roof, driveway and etc. not everyone can manage homes. I agree that HOA has a lot of drawbacks, but not everyone can take care about house so condo is good choice, just check assosiation finances, check history and coming assestments .. and restrictions I just recently had to deal with HOA in San Bruno for recieveing approval for laminate floor and small dog, it was tough, but we did our homework and get permits from 1st requests.

2. VA and FHA loans - no recent expirience with VA, since my friend who was qualified used it to buy house 10-12 years ago. He never said anything bad about it. FHA - couple firends and family memners used FHA loans to pull the trigger with 3% or 5% down. They refinance as soon as their properties get enough value. FHA loans are usually expensive due to PMI.

3. We use 10/10/80 financing. I'm conservative on mortgage and after my 1st realestate fiasco prefer to have more $$ on my account, hard lesson from my 1st property.

I would rephraze common knowledge: "there is no good time to buy on market, there is good time to buy when you are ready!" I'm beliver in this. When we bought our last house we were paying more than 2bdr appartment rent in our area. After turbulent 6 years on real estate market, I do not feel good to say how much our loans cost us to my friends who had to rent appartments in last year or two.

good luck

Look at 2015 premium - climate control is standard and it's huge improvement for comfort.  I know couple ppl who bought 15 year OB and they are happy.
I'm waiting for Exiga to finally hit US market

Good luck

that's why fishing is in the top list of dangerous sports in Australia.  Many people lost life fishing from the rocks.

No oil consumption with my 2011 Outback.  It's the four cylinder with a timing chain replacing the belt in previous years.  I think it takes 5w30 oil.
he's talking about the newer fb/fa engines which have better fuel consumption. You have the older EJ engine.

my fb engine in my impreza doesn't burn oil but majority of horizontally opposed engines will somewhat burn a little bit of oil.

the 6 cylinder EZ engines are damn nice but gas mileage is meh

I had 2010 OB, right now have 2013 - neither of engines has this issue.

I know that this issue is common for some Impreza 2.0l engines, but .... oil intervals are almost 10K. i change oil every 5 to 7.5K

Friend bought 2015 car and I like that climate control is standard for premium right now - A/C was weakest link on 2010-2014 models (many ppl reported not cold enough)

2015 contains new integration with yakima, that's solution for wider bars.

No Offense to German cars makers, but they still far back  behind Subaru from cost/quality /value standpoint

You need to have meeting with room teacher and principal - don't let it go far.
You are in very hard situation:
1. Definitely grandma could not attack kids, you have witnesses.
2. Bulling is hard part that parents have to deal with. You need to talk to your daughter seriously about it. Unfortunately,  you cannot let it go themselves.

Don't waist your time contact school asap, requesting meeting 1st plus #1 it's your advantage.
Also talk to your daughter about bulling ...

Good luck

I like CVT - especially Subaru's. it's one of the best on the market right now. Outback or Forester - I think it's like apple and oranges - everyone has own taste.

I had not good experience with basic Outback, but Subaru NA Customer service stand for me without any power pushes from me. OB Premium is so sweet, that my wife took it from me as city commute car.

based on overall reviews I would go with Premium or higher trims.

I called a dealer . They say sticks are hardly allocated in CA for outback/forester but one can get one.
Outback sport is a bit small for me [emoji22]

A lot of Subarus sold by pre-order. I was waiting about 6 weeks for both outbacks
