Hello everyone, glad I finally joined and looking forward to 2016 kayak fishing.  If anyone is around the Marin Headlands and paddles out to the Lighthouse give me a wave.  Got a lot to learn but should be a fun learning curve.

Working on an old Klepper and got the sit on top ready to hit the water.  Now if I could only rig up a system to get the boat down the rocks I could launch from the house. Another project...

Hope to see you all out there,
Mike

Welcome to NCKA.  A project to launch from your house should be a priority.

Okay SRJ, you have to get me up around your neck of the woods.  The wife won't let me cowboy and go alone anymore.

Somehow I ended up storing a brand new Mokken 14' angler from the wife's cousin.  Not sure he will ever come to use it.

Do you really live out at Point Bonita?  Ever thought about wheeling a yak down the trail from the Upper Fisherman's parking lot?  Seems like a bit of a project but maybe easier than some of the hike in's I've read about on this site.  I've landed on that beach once after paddling out from Ft. Baker and it's super protected, especially during summer/fall.  About a 10 minute walk down the trail, a couple of tricky steps near the bottom but seems doable with the right wheels.

Welcome Mike,
I launch off Rodeo Beach (Cronkite) a couple of times of year when conditions are right. Grew up in the area and spend a lot of time out that way, see you out there!

Welcome! That's an outstanding location you have there. Haven't taken the yak there yet but was looking for access to launch in that area. Good luck and have fun out there.

Upper Fisherman is the wrong way for me due to the one-way and all the stair would be challenging.  The walk from the house is short just a steep section where I would need to do some rigging with the boat.

I'll probably be down at Horseshoe cove for a while until I figure my rig out and get it right

There is some stellar rockfishing up on the Sonoma Coast. When it fires up in the spring, throw that thing in the truck and we'll get after it up at Timber Cove, Ocean Cove and points beyond. Prepare to never buy fish again.

Welcome aboard! Those Kleppers are pretty cool. I almost got overturned by a grey whale in one years ago. You'll have a great time out there! Good luck, stay safe!
