I just got an invite to fish Sonoma, he said the road into yorty is pretty crappy?
Last time we went in under the bridge and saw the end of the apron, so seeing it full sounds like fun... I would like to do a trip up there (1.5 hrs out) so what's the better spots to hit without spending half an hour traveling on the water? Is it true about the road into yorty being trashed? We have little to no experience fishing this lake but any day on the water is a goodun... Any tips? 3

It's a bit of a walk, take wheels.
Low tide its firm but a little muddy. Yea that guy was definitely bigger than I ever seen north of Kennedy. eta The Oxbow preserve " launch " ( if one could call it that) is less than stellar at low tide, as is the launch at the commons across the river under the bridge any time as the city does not maintain it. 4

Mostly in a fwiw sorta way...
The stripers are pushed up the northern end schooling in the sunny spots. I launched @Trancas crossing and headed north. Floated over 3 big schools in sub 5' waters. Boated a couple of +16"ers and this +30" guy who really didn't want to meet me he nearly straightened the hook with a light drag on the old mitchell 308. 5

Got dunked at doran when the nws updated the scw ( big wind once I was out) in a 3mm.
At the beach 30'out, I was 1 cold azz mfer. Can't think of a thicker being flexible, so warm or comfy? I don't know... 6

CA Regulations / Re: CDFW Opens Commercial Dungeness Crab Fishery in Northern Management Zone« on: February 15, 2024, 06:22:33 PM »
The 50% Commercial Dungeness crab gear reduction only applies to the commercial fishery.
The recreational sector of the crab trap fishery is currently under a fleet advisory to employ best fishing practices to reduce entanglement risk. Thank you, 9

I'm on a mobile, what does the latest ramp assessment mean?
California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Director Charlton H. Bonham has assessed entanglement risk under the Risk Assessment Mitigation Program (RAMP) and announced the continuation of the 50 percent Gear Reduction in Fishing Zones 3, 4, 5 and 6 for the commercial fishery and the continuation of the Fleet Advisory for all Fishing Zones in both the commercial and recreational fisheries. 10

Nice find.
A few up north of frisco, we've been to and are sweet spots. Fwiw Bodega dunes is at best "adjacent" to the inlet bay portion. You wont be seeing the horizon. 11
