When I look at NCKA posts (iPad and iPhone) with videos there’s a big blank spot where the video should be
If I hit the reply or quote buttons I can either see the video or at least the YouTube address to copy and paste
Same thing when I post videos from Vimeo links, nothing but a big blank spot where video should be
Anybody know what that’s about?
-
Yup. I am having the same issue on iPhone as well.
-
When in doubt reboot/restart your device. :smt006

Same here for a long time.

Doesn't fix it.
-
When was last time your browser or software updated? That could be the problem too.
-
Have done the reboot multiple times Maybe is something to do with the newer iOS or whatever but actually it’s been going on a long time now
Just looked and can see them on my new phone
I’ll check if im current on the iPad updates, thought i was but maybe not
-
Mine is on my desktop.
Thanks for the tip about seeing the link in the replies.
That was a huge help.

What happens if you use a different browser like Chrome vs Firefox Mozilla?
You may need to run an update for your graphics software is another possible step.
-
I updated the iPad and still can’t see video
Ill try browsers other than safari
-
Although I use safari on my phone and no problem there

You might want to try a hard reset here if the update didn't change.
-
If the video is playing in Chrome but not displaying in Safari, this means that the video is not HTML5 compatible. Apple has always had an issue with some codecs and flash. IF it works in safari, but not on your phone, try clearing your caches & cookies and history.

Actually the update probably had your ipad rebooted already.
-
So I can see videos in chrome on the iPad. On the iPhone I can see them in safari
Not sure what a hard reset is? I updated and rebooted if that’s what you mean
-
A hard reset depending on how old the apple device is:
-Pressing/holding power button and up volume button same time.
or
-Pressing/holding power button and round home button same time (older apples)
-
So I can see videos in chrome on the iPad. On the iPhone I can see them in safari
On older apple devices you have to go into settings/apps and update those apps separately. It will tell if there's an update available.
-
Thanks
I looked at that and seems like there are no update options
-
The iPad is about a year old
I may just switch to chrome which seems faster anyway
Anybody else having the problem?
-
I have same issue on my Samsung galaxy Chrome browser. Though, it only happens for some videos, not all.

Try Firefox instead?
-
Thanks FX
So it works on chrome and Firefox but not safari
-
Maybe worth a try to clear the history and cookies.
Also try closing out all the open apps by swiping your finger from bottom edge of screen to about the middle.....then swipe up on ever app to close.
-
I have to use Chrome to see videos. The forum will not work on any of my apple products (newer devices and older) unless using Chrome. I tried every update, setting change, reset and finally gave up. I don’t bother with it anymore unless there is a video i really really want to see, but usually just skip it.

Hum, I may have stumbled upon something when looking at this post:
