General Talk / Sucky way to start the day

Woke up at 5 to meet Chris at Wimpys for some striper action. Car was loaded up last night so all I had to do was pack my lunch and go. Push the garage door opener and the door barely moves. WTF!!!

Damn spring!!! That door weights a ton and won't stay up so I can drive out. Was really looking forward to go fishing. Oh well, I get to work in the garage today.

Sorry Chris, maybe tomorrow.

General Talk / Big fire just started at Lake Berryessa on the south side

Big fire happening right now and it does not look good. It is in the canyon at hwy 128. The wind is blowing hard through the canyon and if it is not stopped, it will be to the dam in little to no time. Plenty of campgrounds in trouble. Be safe out there if you head that way. Car fire supposedly to blame.

Kayak Fly Fishing / Fly angler wins Rollins Lake Round-up FreshKAT tournament

I won with a size 8 black wiggle tail on an intermediate line. Great lake to fly fish at, I hope to go back in about 3 weeks. The water temps should be perfect.

Fishing Tournaments and Events / Crabfest 2015 uke jam

This years Crabfest uke jam will be at site 93 on Saturday night starting any time after 6. Just look for the NCKA flag and the lighted palm tree next to the rv. I will have a fire going, but if some can bring just one extra log for the fire that would be great. I will have a table set up and cupcakes for the little ones, and any not so little ones of course.

Novofish will be our band leader, so bring out any instrument you have, your singing voice whether good or not. Good times will be had by all. Weather is looking to be great for the weekend.

Fishing Tournaments and Events / Crabfest 2015 perch fishing on Saturday

I will be driving over to Bodega dunes on Saturday of the event to hit the surf for some perch action. Probably head over after breakfast around 9 or so. I have room in my car if anyone wants to join me. You can learn how I fly fish the surf for perch if your interested.

I'll be in site #93, just look for the NCKA flag.

General Talk / Why no football talk?

Usually this time of year there are a couple threads on football. Is it because of how bad the local teams are playing? Raiders are winless, Colin gets pulled in the loss to the Broncos.

Thanks goodness the Broncos are playing great this year, looks like they finally figured out a really good winning formula.

Kayak Diving and Spearfishing / Need a scuba diver with a light for a mission in Napa

Need to talk to someone that can dive and has a light. I dropped my cel phone in a lake at about 24' deep and would like to try and get it back. It is in a waterproof container. If you are in the Napa area and wouldn't mind helping out a NCKA brother and make a couple of bucks at the same time, let me know.

Kayak Fly Fishing / Fly locations for lings or rock

Having very little to no experience with lings and rock fish, where should I go to have a descent shot at getting some with my fly rod?

Kayak Fly Fishing / Davis Lake = big trout on top

Fished Davis Lake last Saturday and had the usual awesome time. Sight fishing for rising big rising trout is awesome!!! Smallest was 18".

Damsel nymphs are the food of the day. I plan to go back this weekend with my kayak to rack up some points. Fishing is tough unless you know the lake and how to fish it.

Kayak Fly Fishing / Looking for an ocean fishing adventure

I have only fished for lings and/or cod once in my kayak and it was with conventional gear. Anyone want to take me out and show me the ropes with my fly gear?

I would love to get into some ocean action from my kayak with my fly rod. I am available most weekends, and with a couple days notice can get a day off during the week.

There is one thing in life I can not figure out, and that is how to remember names. I feel like a shmuck every time someone walks up to me and says hi Scott, and for the life of me I can not remember their name. So when you ever see me at an event, please do not take it personal, it is just one thing I can not get my head around for some damn reason. I have tried all the name memory tricks and none work. So please, remind me of your names when I see my fellow brother and sister NCKA'er's, and I will try to remember. It makes me feel really bad when I can not remember a name.

Trust me, if I didn't like you, I would let you know. And so far I like everyone I have meet on this board, even though you all use conventional gear and BAIT!!! Blasphemy I tell you, blasphemy!

My brope is always open for others to tag along with!
