The paddle for the SUP is quite different from kayak paddles.  I would buy 2 used ones for them.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Feel Free fish kill bag
« Last post by troypearce@gmail.com on Today at 08:47:48 AM »
I love my feel free fish bag..... great size fits my oldtown rear well almost perfectly and holds a large amount of fish..... my 34 inch hali fit with just a bit of the tail hanging out.

The liner really keeps things more tidy and is really heavy duty.

Welcome Squidgames.
There are a lot of members in the Sacramento area. Many of us fish for Kokanee and Trout. You are welcome to join us any time.
There is NCKA Fish-n-Chill at Bullards Bar Res. on May 9, 10, 12th. It would be a great place to meet members and learn about catching Kokanee. Check the Hookup and Reports boards and the Fishing  Tournaments and Events boards for info. Once you get to 10 posts, several Members Only boards will open up for you. I fish for Kokes quite often. Feel free to send me a PM if you ever want to go.

Yea… as much as I want to go. Safety is number 1 so I’ll be pinning this one till the weather gets better.

General Talk / Re: Any fad diets for Hobies? Asking for a friend.

Mark,

I've got my eye on a Caribbean 14 FS, mainly because of the weight. If you're willing to answer some questions:

How stable is the C14? I'm on a Hobie Compass now and it is really stable.  Compass is 34" wide IIRC. C14 is 29".

Does your C14 have a well for a transducer, or do you have to drop it over the side?

Could you mount a scotty flush mount on the gunwale for something like a mini downrigger? I'm not talking about a track mount, but actual drilling holes.

The Compass is possibly the lightest 12+ pedal kayak out there but I can tell I'm going to need something lighter in the coming years. And it looks like I will need to give up pedaling to do it.

I really do not have anything to compare the C14 to as far as stability but I haven't had any issues.

Mine does not have a transducer well so I have a Hook2 transducer glued inside, and a Raymarine that hangs off the side.

I use a downrigger mounted on the rail with a double attachment mount.

I think you will really like a C14. I still use mine for fresh water. Let me know if you would like pictures of any of the mounting. I have drilled around 60 holes for stuff above the water line for all of the stuff I have. If you mount something like a downrigger you will need a backing plate.

I'm on the fence, 6' at 8 seconds may be a bit rough and I'm still a novice.

What are you guys thinking?
