Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Mossdale landing« on: November 12, 2019, 10:22:41 AM »
just a lot less current and easier overall access to me. you can launch at tracy oasis and get to the back of clifton court pretty easy. there is also one spot there i used to hand launch off the levee which wasn't too bad.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Mossdale landing« on: November 12, 2019, 10:13:20 AM »I was thinking about drifting live bait from Mossdale down river to Dos Reis and have someone pick me up there. I think I may try Tracy Oasis soon because there's a little less current there most of the time. Does anybody know if there is a grass problem up here like there is in Rio Vista? Can't even troll down there.never had a huge problem there before but you might want to ask some of the bass guys on facebook if you have it. good stretch of river from mossdale down to dos reis. 34

pretty decent current through that area at times - recommend paddling upstream from your launch and coming back down. haven't fished it in years. i preferred grant line canal in tracy over it.

General Talk / Re: Crab Thievery My Thoughts --> Stay Close« on: November 01, 2019, 02:56:42 PM »I put silver reflective aluminum duct tape on mine so i am pretty certain of my pots. yet to see anything that looks like mine. This might be an odd question, but is it technically illegal to pull someone else's pot? If you're on a pier or party boat and someone's rod goes off next to you and the rod's owner is nowhere to be seen, and you take the rod and reel in the fish, is that technically illegal? It is currently against the law. 36

General Talk / Re: What Kayak Brand should MBK add to their retail?« on: October 02, 2019, 12:15:36 PM »
Us folks over at Native have a pretty large line of fishing kayaks now. We have lightweight thermoforms made by Hurricane and also have the lightest and most popular 10' pedal kayak around with the Slayer Propel 10. The new Slayer Max 12.5 is really exciting and was designed for both open water and freshwater. We've got plenty of good paddle yaks too. With Mike Mowrey as our distributor things have really picked up and there is strong dealer service. I'm sure we can get a demo of the Max out there in Late October for you guys.

you probably saw Moo's video. He's a member here. MooMoo Outdoors.
Headwaters in Lodi has some other options also - new Slayer Max Propel 12.5 should be pretty comparable to both the outback and the predator, but at a lower price than the OB. We have improved our seating height with the new model. Should see some of those boats showing up in shops in Late Oct/Early Nov. I'll have one and my distributor will have one that people are always welcome to demo. It will be a little heavier than the topwater but has some pretty cool little features. It should have plenty of seating room - our new cockpit is 25" wide all the way through so plenty of leg room. As for drilling through for a transducer - highly doubt that will be a warranty problem as long as you don't drill below the waterline. Of course if your custom installation is the cause for a hull failure then most manufacturers won't cover that. 45
Native Watercraft / Re: NEW Native Slayer MAX Propel 12.5 - $2599 brand new model!« on: August 28, 2019, 07:21:04 AM »That’s a really nice lake setup...It's developed for both salt and freshwater. New upswept bow raker, improved turning, sharper entry. not as squared off as some of our models in the rear, 34" wide. My Manta Ray Propel handles the ocean just fine and is not as capable of a kayak as this one is. Have never had a problem with my propel drives in saltwater and I've had them as long as anyone on the west coast. just needs occasional maintenance. |
