General Talk / Re: Drysuit repair
« on: May 19, 2022, 10:15:55 PM »
I have Kokatat drysuit. Last time I sent it in for some minor routine maintenance (or so I thought), they told it was unfixable and they replaced it. In fact, they no longer sell the model I had, and the one they replaced it with was more than 50% more expensive than what I paid originally (I’d bought it originally on close out). So, if it was me, I’d go with the manufacturer, even if it is a bit costlier in the short run.
Love kokatat. Had mine warrantied because of delamination. They even agreed to upgrade me at a very minimal cost.

send it to the manufacturer. They usually will do it for a reasonable cost.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Roof rack crossbar pads

I use Dakine pads on my Yakima HD bars. Never had issues with rolling. I notice the first set I bought kinda shrunk though. Not sure if that’s a common issue
Did you add extra zip ties to it?

Hobie Kayaks / Re: Revo 16 - "stock" water intrusion

I noticed this too when I was installing a transducer on my Revo 16. The Revo 13 has the hole right behind the seat. I would just put some goop on it and call it a day.

Anyone that fails after these tips, you deserve to be denied.  :smt044

It really isn't that difficult to prep your yak for inspection, yet we see it on here all the time complaining about how someone drove X hours to the spot just to be denied by some dick inspector that was just doing his job.   :smt005
I heard your drain plug is wet and dirty. :smt044

sounds like an  awesome weekend - but headed to San Diego

If you enjoy being constantly harassed by a Mexican Super Mario smelling of Coors Light, then this could be the best weekend of your life, skip SD.
I had the best weekend of my life in SD when i was locked in the bathroom of a charterboat and some tall filipino dude was waiting for me in the shower.  :smt003

General Talk / Re: COVID After Effects

I remember doing this survey when it popped up on my Facebook feed a long time ago. Yeah, it was a Facebook survey where they asked for your education level, ethnicity, etc. I have a feeling that not all of those 10k who claimed they had a PhD did, in fact, have a PhD.

FWIW, I'm always tempted to make stuff up on Facebook surveys, but I was mostly honest with that one...I think. I'm interested to see how the peer review goes, it looks like the researchers noticed a "concerted effort" that “did make the hesitancy prevalence in the Ph.D. group look higher than it really is.”

I get that his comment angered you, and your passionate about dispelling bogus information (which I agree with, for what it's worth).  But you having 12 13 posts under your belt are being directly offensive and using foul language to a member that has been here for many many years.  This is a forum, you don't have to agree with what is being said, but you cant make shit personal without being offensive.  You might just want to abandon this account and start a new one.  "You will never make your self look good by making someone else look bad."
don't forget to unplug your modem so you get a new IP address when you make the account. I know Pat/Dustin will be watching that like a hawk.  :smt044
