What are the dates for 2026?

Same as always: 3rd weekend of January.

I believe 2025 was the 4th weekend. I also booked the 4th weekend in 2026.
Hmmm....
So did I.  Ha!
4th week end then.

I thought the old square traps were illegal and so were overnight soaks?
Those restrictions were lifted.

Caught a female crab on the jetty using a snare, but someone removed both claws.
Released

I'm sure you will!  I believe those crab traps are magic, but alas, I don't think pots are allowed, only nets!  WE will stop by to say hi and celebrate LIFE!
Cheers!

Anyone have a recommendation where I can buy a dozen or so fresh oysters and a crab on my way to Doran?  We are coming from Sacramento area via Sebastopol.
Cheers!

I've used GULP sand worms, about 1/2 or even just a 1/4 of a worm trolled behind and letting bounce on the bottom.  Parallel the shore just beyond the break.  Probably anything would work with flavor, like maybe raw shrimp chunks?  Take several options and give each a pass to see what they are hitting on.  Be sure to mark your hits as they tend to school in the deeper pockets.

The fact you had the app on your phone should be enough evidence to convince a judge you were not given the proper amount of time to open the app.  At least I'd suggest that to the judge.  I'd also tell the judge what the DFG guys said; that it was easy to get dismissed and that you would call the officer to court to interrogate him on the matter if necessary to have this citation honored with the intention of the issuing officer that it be dismissed.  Tell the judge you would have not let the officer leave without pulling up the license if he had not told you that, and you would have had him wait until you could open the app.
My opinion on how to give a judge the means to dismiss this, anyways.

In the meantime, I checked mine just now and I have the biometric enabled on my app.  My phone can read my fingerprint and just touching the on/off button lightly reads and opens the app to my license, no worries.  The physical license is kept in my lifevest with my ID since I never fish on the water without it.  (Something attached to me when on the water to make the identification of the body easier)

BTW, the app works with the phone in airplane mode, meaning the info is on the phone itself, and doesn't need internet, cellphone, wifi or blutooth connection to view it.  But best of all, it didn't require a login password or finger print reading to open either.  Just opened straight to my license!
To verify this was a fact, I powered off the phone, then restarted it to wipe any memory of the app being opened and closed.  Upon boot up, I logged into my phone, opened the app and it when straight to the license with an overlay saying that internet was not available.  The overly went away when I touched the screen.

I got an email today from Shelter Cove RV Campground and Deli notifying me that 2025 reservations are now open.
Is there going to be a gathering for 2025 and if so, has a date been set yet?
Cheers!

Well, the shirts are beautiful, and I love mine!

I might get creative with it and add not just the year, but the past years we couldn't hold the event with a slash through them using a paint pen.  Ha!   :smt004

Finally!  Got around to unpacking and checking out my cool shirts.  Did anyone notice the year is not indicated on them?

Make reservation here Sonny. They will call back to confirm. They will assign the campsite. I have not tried but maybe you can request for a specific site. It’s good that they don’t charge by person like how Jack used to do it. I’m paying $95 for 4 people from Thurs-Sun

Thanks for the info Allan.  Tried to call but no one answer so will try again later.  Checked out their website to find out about the camp sites so maybe our group can stay close.   I think it used to be first come first serve under old management.

When I made my reservation, I made a note as to my 3 preferences.  They called back to let me know I got my 1st choice.  It's not noted on the e-mailed reservation confirmation though. The e-mail does say to expect an e-mail containing self-check in details about a week before arrival.

Once you've chosen the dates, click on the "Check Detailed Availability" tab under the calendar.  A list of every site with either a green check mark, or a red X will let you know what is and isn't available.

I noticed that the rates increased since I made my reservation back on March 1st.  RV site w/hook-ups was $45 a night, now it's $51.67 a night.  There's a $5 per night charge for a pet.

Same weekend as Gimme Shelter XVIII it would seem.
