Looks good. The only concern is that the brass is softer than the metal chain. Perhaps installing a roller between the brass and the pins of the chain will help prevent the brass from wearing? Also, Lube it up with some chain lube for dirt bikes. It will not sling off and is waterproof.

Thinking of setting up another Open Invite over-nighter in a few weeks. Does Friday 20th/Saturday 21st or Saturday 21st/Sunday 22nd work better? The following weekend 27th, 28, 29 are good for me too.

Keep in mind that you need a way to mount the transducer. Some go with a scupper hole type. I prefer the rail arm mount. Some people say they cause too much drag but I don't notice it and like the way it swings up out of the way when launching/landing. Scotty, Ram, YakAttack and others all make arms. Check Utube for how to video's.

Report- had a great time talking and fishing with everyone. Arrived at7:30 and was on the water by 8:00. The lake level had actually risen by two feet so launching was no problem. Marked a ton of fish out by the wake marker off the end of the ramp and had several drive-by hits but none wanted to commit. Headed over to the shaded east side. Got several in the net in a matter of minutes. Everyone was hooking up too. Decided to check out the east river arm. As soon as I get to the white buoy at the river entrance, it was on. Fish after fish. Got on the radio and told everyone to come join the fun. Strange though, the water temp was 71* at the surface so I wasn’t really expecting them to be back there. However, they were absolutely stacked in certain spots all the way to the back. Ended my day at 1:30 with 26 Kokanee. A few 9” dinks but most were 12-13”. Got 2 Rainbows 12 and 16” and 3 dink Ditch Pickles. All my fish came from 35-50’ at 1.3mph.      Kevin

I’m trying to hit some kokes this weekend. Only know my way around bullards bar and Lake Tahoe for them and was just gonna accept I’d be forced off the lakes by 10 am.
I’ve never been to sly creek but love the idea of less traffic on the water.
Anyone gonna try to grab a first come campsite at Sly Creek?

That' a tough call. Most holidays, the place is packed. We did tried that on Fathers day weekend. Went up Friday afternoon and couldn't get a site. Just ended up spending the night on one of the side roads on the way in.
However, Since the ramp is out of the water, there may less campers.
We'll be fishing the east side across from the ramp and towards the dam. Give us a shout on Ch.69.

A few members are heading up to Sly Creek for Kokanee and Trout. Wasn't to sure about going on labor day weekend but I found out that the boat ramps are out of the water and there is a small drop off at the end of it. That means that the ski boats and lake lice will not be able to launch without some difficulty and risk. This bodes well for the Kayakers as we can team up and cart or carry the Yaks down. Reports from last week indicate that they are still on the chew and still relatively shallow (45') as compared to the other local lakes (100'+).
Planning to launch between 7-8am. Ch.69

Fished from 8:00 to 3:00. Despite the tide, we did quite well in the morning. Landed a ton of little guys about 4-5" long. Bite died at slack tide. Tried Poke poling for a bit bit but only came up with small rock crabs. Still managed to bring home 8 Barred and Silver perch up to 10". Made for a great fish taco dinner. Nice Place. Easy level walk to the beach Watched several people launch Fishing kayaks in the morning. Dont know how they did as we left before they came back in.
