Reports on CS are starting to get interesting... seems pretty good off of HMB ~30 miles out for albacore. 

Wanted to ask the group, seems like this thread is decent without too much of a threadjack... Given the albacore are apparently hitting live bait (at least from the charter reports), what would be the main challenge in a mothership trip for albacore, pending you could book something like that?  It may be a bit expensive and somewhat logistically challenging, but assuming you get past that part, do you think it would be too difficult to get the boat where it needs to be, deploy the kayaks, and fish, or do you think the need to cover ground would make this idea stupid and just a method to spend all your money staying in one spot not catching shit?

As we were leaving, one of the year round residents was heading off to find it and finish it off. If only I had the right footwear

This brings back memories.  Probably 15 years ago, we got on ferried over to Yuquot, Nootka with 3 kayaks, camped there and fished from there.  Good times.

I was fantasizing about doing something like that, how was there good fishing in kayak range? I know the Salmon can hang tight to Friendly Cove…was Sandford there when you visited? If so, based on what he told us he would have been in his beach front shop.

This has always amazed and baffled me, as well.  I also think about their return, thinking, "wtf... now what?!" right before that big sea lion hurls them through the air
