General Fishing Tips / fishing alameda for halibut
« on: April 05, 2023, 03:55:24 PM »
So current reports look good for Alameda for halibut, I have not gone fishing there before, planning on going out this weekend. I would appreciate any tips on where to go, depth and so forth. Anyway the basics are good, it'll be low tide in early AM. I'm assuming it is best to go with the tide, so maybe go south with the incoming tide and then north with the outgoing tide. I believe I've heard it best to stay within 10 to 20 foot depth. Thanks for any help, much appreciated gentlemen fishermen.

Introductions / looking to kayak fish monterey
« on: March 29, 2023, 03:18:32 PM »
Hey there everyone, I am looking to kayak fish monterey for some halibut, I have heard a good area is north of san carlos beach.  I am also looking to do some kayak freediving/spearfishing in the monterey/carmel area. I have been in the area for scuba diving but not fishing or spearfishing. If I can get some ideas of some good locations, suggestions and any helpful hints I would really appreciate that. I am also looking for people to go out with, please get in touch if you are interested, good weather is coming up, I want to get out there, thanks everyone, Ron.
