What are you going to be using it for? Is a ff neccessary? My first kayak was a 120 knock off and the cockpit was pretty confined. I had a mount plate and ff but ended up never using it because my line was inevitably going to find it's way under and around it while paddling or fishing. If it was necessary, I'd go with smaller. Smaller these days doesn't mean you won't have all the features you want.

I almost exclusively troll in my kayak and love having a FF to monitor trolling speed and see how deep fish are holding. For a simple setup try mounting in the hull with duct seal. It's worked great on my Garmin Stryker though I did lose down vue capability and the temp isn't accurate. All worth it IMO as I did not like having the transducer mounted to the gear tracks - seemed like it was always in the way.

I used to own a Tarpon 100 and a 120. I attached my FF to the track and used a arm to hang the transducer into the water. I laid the power wire along the side back to the tank well where I had my battery in a waterproof lock-n-lock. No holes to drill and easily removable. I used a 5 inch black and white Humminbird FF. I've changed over to Lowrance with my new kayak because the Humminbird doesn't work well with the pod based installation Wilderness uses now. I've still got the Humminbird setup and I've been wondering what to do with it. I'd like to pay it forward and I'll give you a deal you can't refuse if you want it. You'll have to get a battery for it though.
