Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Dragonfly 5 pro?
« on: July 25, 2017, 07:21:26 AM »
So it's really about what mapping I would want to use, other than that they are the same?
Looking at getting one off of Amazon and they word them in a way that makes them sound one has gps but the other doesn't.
Thanks for the help.

Huge shout out to Shoprat, lumberjack and Rockfish, for finding my boat and taking on a mission to get it back.the way I hear it, you guys went above and beyond.
I will thank you in person soon!

Craig, while shit got weird for me, my head was in the game I lived and I still had a great time. To every one else that had my back, I thank you too.
Y'all are what makes this group awesome. Lots of you don't know me and I don't post much here anymore.
But on the water when I was dealing in the shit, every one helped.
I have heard it for years never turn you back on the ocean.
This was the first time in the last 12 years that I was too comfortable.
Long story, short. Gear up for game day, every day!
It saved my ass!
Thanks again, if shit gets weird I'll have your back as you had mine!

I have a old American alloy pressure canner that I got off eBay a few years back after a tuna trip.
Very well built, heavy duty but not cheap, I think I payed 250 for it.
Best damn caned tuna ever!

RHYAK...Here is the Crowley tip.
Get your flys a the the shop at the lake, they were small midges. Sometimes bay and Sandy point is where they were getting after 'em!
They were using a very small bobber that would slide on the line when reeled up. The key was the right fly, one foot off the bottom.
They would attach forceps to the hook to find the depth, if the bobber sinks, add tippet, if not adjust the bobber.
They bought the bobbers at the trout fitters in mammoth,
But sounds like the marina/ fly shop is more on it!
Good luck!

A buddy of mine had his bachelor party on the Owens river for a little beer drinking and fly flinging.
The beauty that is the Owens river valley is out of control. The fishing was hit and mis, we had it dialed in after a day or so.
The wind would pick up at 12-3 or so every day then die of at dark, due to bishop heating up.
The caddis were out but not in force.
The hot bite was on woolly buggers in any thing but green due to the moss, almost every cast you would have to clean your gear.
We caught lots of fish per day, can't put a number on it with the biggest at 16 inch and looking for a fight!
The guys are still up there and fishing Crowley, and getting in to some bigger browns. All I got in the river was rainbows, but a few browns were caught by the crew.
All fish went back but one that was a bleeder!
