General Talk / Stohlquist dry suit information?
« on: January 04, 2017, 07:44:57 PM »
Mainly I use Farmer John wet suits with top layering depending on conditions but have been finding some wear and tear from what I think is more minimal use. Granted it should still have sufficient life, I am thinking ahead and saving for a dry suit. A relief zipper and comfort ability for longer days also sounds much better. Didn't find much info regarding Stohlquist while searching but can anyone who has tried or heard about preferably the Amp, Shift or EZ let me know your overall thoughts?

Also regarding the sizing chart, how true to size are they especially when I'll be wearing extra layers throughout the winter? (Medium seems to be fine for average build, 6' 175lbs and 32'' waist. Or large for being on the border and for layers?) New territory for me so want to get it right the first time while still doing research before pulling any trigger. With that being said I know Kokatat would be #1 but for work reasons I am trying to stick with Stohlquist, for now..

Much appreciated.

Camping over at New Brighton through the dates listed and bringing the lightweight surf rod in hopes of landing a perch or two. I have only been on the hunt 2 times for a short period with a good hit but nothing landed so would like to get a lot more time in this go around. Would also hope to gain some insight if anyone is in the area and has a little time to kill.

Might consider bringing the yak, Monday looks pretty decent with a break in wind but might just keep it simple.. I'll be fishing for perch whenever but Monday 10:30 AM-2:30 PM looks like prime time. Anyways if anyone is interested shoot me a message @ 650 430 1599.

Also is there much difference from Rio Del Mar to Seacliff Beach?

Going to be in Shingle Springs and seeing if anyone in the area has any plans for Friday? Haven't heard of any recent reports but figure I try for some trout. Been also wanting to get out to Ice House but think that will have to wait when I have a little more time. Anyways I plan on being there early A.M. lurking around the front dam.

General Talk / OK T13/ Yeti cooler ?
« on: October 30, 2015, 06:47:26 PM »
So I just placed my order for the yak and rudder but unfortunately I don'f think it will make it in time for the crab opening. Plenty of time and dungies out there though so while waiting I am curious if anyone has put a Yeti Tundra 35/45 in the rear tank well and or the dimensions of the back?

And correct me if I am wrong but looks like a full size plastic ammo box will fit directly behind the seat compartment? Lastly if anyone happens to know if a Yeti Hopper 20/30 will fit in the center rod pod section or rough dimensions of the inside?

Appreciate any information or other tips where a quality cooler can fit snug.

Introductions / Hello all
« on: January 19, 2015, 02:31:14 PM »
Just wanted to say hello to everyone out there. Been searching through the site for some time and finally figured I should join. I usually fish in freshwater and will fish from shore but try and get out on my inflatable pontoon or my Advanced Elements Tomcat Tandem that I have been also wanting to take out in the ocean at some point (any thoughts or suggestions on inflatable tandem would be appreciated to) Fishing out on the ocean I can see in the future along with crabbing either from shore/ pier or dropping some nets. Trying to expand on whats out there and hopefully meet up with a few of you down the road.
