Has anyone ever paddled out to the "Pinnacles" from Stillwater Cove (the monterey stillwater) ?

Just curious. I recently bought a new marine map that shows all of the reefs and wrecks and it looks like the pinnacles would be do-able. In fact, I think I remember sackyak mentioning it when we launched from Carmel River SB a couple months ago. but it seems like it would be an easier paddle from Stillwater than CRSB. I'm considering launching from Stillwater for the first time this week and doing some prep work beforehand.
BTW, I do not have a GPS....just a compass.

A friend of mine has been fishing the pinnacles from his boat the past couple weekends and doing pretty good. And the lingcod season closes soon; thus the impetus to fish there soon.

Thanks in advance for the responses. In the meantime, I will be searching the archives.

PK,

It is an easy paddle from Stillwater.  You will probably not need GPS, just paddle out toward Pescadero point and you will see the kelp beds from the pinnacles off shore about 1/4 to 1/2 mile.  When are you planning on going?  I might join you.

After doing some research, it seems like the Pinnacles are easily reachable, pending WX conditions. A simple search brought up a virtual "plethora" of good info.
I would like to go there on Saturday but will probably have to wait until Thursday or Friday to make the call...after getting a good read on the WX. Backup plan would be PG.

Oh yeah, almost forgot ---- Randall, the map is just one from the Fish N Map company. It shows the coastline from Bodega down to Carmel with close-up insets of a few popular spots like HMB, Bodega/Tomales, Monterey Peninsula, etc. Its pretty cool because it shows locations of reefs and wrecks with GPS coordinates. And it is supposedly waterproof. I got it at Outdoor World in Monterey but I imagine you can probably get it at a lot of tackle shops.
