I've got a set of pre-2011 aka bars (the kind that are pinned as opposed to snapping into place). Back then, they were painted, whereas I believe that they are now anodized.

In the picture, you can see the paint is peeling off of the older (aluminum) bars, in comparison to the newer version. I'd like to refinish the peeling paint. In the past, I've had aluminum bike frames powdercoated, but that does not seem to be a popular option for marine applications. Maybe I can have them anodized, if it's not too expensive? Are there other options that I'm overlooking?

It’s really easy to anodize at home... just takes time..

Have fun sanding and  polishing.

The parts in the picture I posted are pretty reasonable, size-wise. But the aka bars themselves are about 4' long and curved on the ends. I think it would be fairly challenging to deal with those and get professional-looking results, as compared to the small part shown in those videos.

It is challenging... what ever the metal finish is. It will translate to the anodized finish.  Just looked up a few Santa Clara metal finish shops. But they don’t list their rates... I really hate that...

I contacted one in San Jose to get an estimate, but have not heard back yet. I've stripped all of the plastic parts off, and I think I could also remove the paint off pretty well, which might save some money...
