Thinking about coming to this event for the first time. Can someone tell me where I can find the scoring rules for this event. I also noted that the dates of the 25,26,27 are all three dates part of the tournament? Thanks

General Fishing Tips / Re: Shelter Cove Fishing 'The Hat'

It's good to know. I called a friend of mine and I learned they changed those regs. years ago. Not that I would ever go that far in a yak.

Been fishing the cove for 30 years now but only the last three from my Outback. The hat is technically off limits to bottom fishing because even if it is above the 120 ft line you have to go past 120ft to get there. You really don't have to go that far for good lingcod fishing. Just use BIG BAITS for BIG LINGS. Like a black label cut plug herring.

I have always used the same recipe as you are using but recently I have started adding borax. My baits are much firmer with the borax and I have heard that they will keep up the 3 months in the refrigerator.

I'm in on this Rob...When one of us wins we all win!!! I need to know the best way to send money. The last thing you need to think about is how your going to pay for this. Lets' send him off well supported.

I'm looking forward to the event but haven't registered yet. Need to check my schedule. I've talked to a few more guys that are planing on coming also.

7
Looks like we have some Outback lovers. I've been fishing mine for 3 yrs. and wouldn't fish anything else. I fish Shelter Cove mostly but thinking I'm going to take a trip to Whiskey Town and Lewiston.

Jeff if you want to stay in close in protected waters you might try the south end of the harbor. Eric and Dominic fished there at Rock Fish Wars and did quite well. We went around the point and north and didn't do as well as them.

That sounds good. I live in Redway and have about an hours drive. I know people that live at the Cove so I'll get a fish report on Fri. This is going to be a GREAT DAY!!!

If every thing goes right I'll be fishing with you guys sat. What time are you all thinking about launching?

For Sale / Need Used Mirage Drive
« on: July 25, 2013, 10:27:19 AM »
I got my Mirage Drive stolen at my motel room the night before Rock Fish Wars at Trinidad. Does anyone have a Mirage Drive they would like to sale?

I agree. We all face the same conditions. I hope everyone will just play it safe.

Nobody is talking about the water forecast. I'm sure everyone is thinking of plan B or hoping for the best.

This event was so much fun last year I have to do it again. The blacks are so much bigger than Shelter Cove and I caught my biggest Salmon ever on my yak ( close to 30lbs ) I think I shed a tear as I released it. But not this year. Thank you for changing the date.

I wish I had seen your post earlier. Hopefully your trip was good. I have never fished HB in my kayak but I have fished it many times. Mostly for Leopard shark and some for Calif. halibut. The leopard shark fishing can be very exciting and very good eating. Later Gary
