Thank you for all the cards and well wishes.

Its been a rough ride lately. Some days I am stuck in bed, no energy to get up. I've had to train some friends and family on my needs to help keep me afloat. Its a struggle to get enough nutrition and maintain hydration.

1st timer. What do folks traditionally bring to share?

Adam

Bring something you would be proud to serve.

Setting the bar high

I think you brought some fried rice at HMB that was the bomb. Couldn't stop eating it  :smt001
I need that recipe  :smt007

This is the way!

No recipe for the fried rice.  Just use your intuition, or make your own cantonese bbq pork from scratch and then make fried rice with it.   :smt044

I am very grateful for the love and support from NCKA. It's been very helpful for keeping myself afloat and as comfortable as possible. The past 18 months have been tough and I dont expect things to get easier. Some days I cant get out of bed, some days i feel decent and I can be out and about.

Heartbreaking!!!!!

Marvin has always put aside his own well being for others.  I know he was exhausted and not feeling well when he stayed up all night cooking at Ariel and Shifra's wedding, but would he let any of us give a hand?  HELL NO!!!!

Still keeping him in my prayers!!!!

:(

What will make it great again is if Marv brings his smoker again! :smt007 :smt005
or his famous pizza!!!

but having Marv there, would make this awesome! Shicken Strong!!!!

I'm gonna try - depending on how my health holds up.  :-)

Thank you everybody. It was great to see all the old and new faces. I almost didn't make the trip because travel is pretty rough one me. Also bummed I wasn't able to throw down some pizza or burgers.

This is an extremely challenging time for me. Its hard to believe this is my 8th year in this cancer battle. The PIF funds will help me in so many ways. Mainly getting medical supplies to take care of my gnarly tumor wound that bleeds very easily.

My treatment plan involves a few rounds of chemo, then switch over to immunotherapy drugs. Radiation is also a possibility.

I start chemo again on Aug 23rd. The outcome is unclear, but I'm looking forward to getting better.

Pay It Forward / Re: Marv aka "Shicken" update....
« on: September 26, 2017, 04:22:09 PM »
This is getting interesting. Saw my oncologist today. It turns out the pathology report from the neck biopsy is negative for viable tumor. I got a copy of it.

When i saw,the surgeon on 9/14 he said it was positive for tumor. I suspect he might have seen an old report from two years ago. The latest one is dated 9/14. I will check in with him.

Recent scans show a small tumor in my sinus, seems like this has been there a little while.

Docs want to do a surgical procedure to biopsy it.

Been on the Keytruda drug since 9/2015. Its been working to a degree where the cancer has been mostly kept in check. My oncologist is working on putting a clinical trial together for a combination immunotherapy treatment where they will add two other drugs.

Not sure where this is headed, just wanted to update! Cancer sucks! :)
