Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Anyone Been Fishing ARW In July?« on: July 12, 2021, 11:08:14 AM »
Fished ARW a couple of days ago. Caught 5 shakers. No keepers. Even the shakers are getting smaller.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Alameda rock wall report?« on: July 06, 2021, 11:30:10 AM »
Anyone fishing Alameda rock wall recently and any report? I fishing Oyster Point for last two weekends but only got a few shakers. I am wondering if the adult halibuts have moved to different locations?

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: 6/23 Monterey kelp beds (VIDEO)« on: June 24, 2021, 03:36:51 PM »
Thanks for the post. I am new to kayak fishing, only fish SF bay for halibut. Love to try rock cod fishing sometime. Monterey seems like a great place start with the calm water and near shore.

Introductions / Re: New guy from Reno« on: January 31, 2021, 07:59:58 PM »
Welcome Ian. I fished Davis lake last October with a guide on a boat. Caught around 15 fish in half a day. The fish bite from surface to 6 feet. This lake is perfect on a kayak but harder from shore due to weeds. Can’t wait to go back this year.

Introductions / Re: New kayaker - looking for recommendations for personal locator beacon« on: January 31, 2021, 07:53:32 PM »
Thanks for all the feedbacks. Really helpful. I just ordered a bilge pump as suggested. Some of my backpacking friends use garmin inReach. It’s very small and provides communication virtually anywhere. Only downside is the price plus monthly subscription fee. I am still not decided between VHF radio and a PLB. I may get a VHF first and see how it goes.

Introductions / New kayaker - looking for recommendations for personal locator beacon« on: January 30, 2021, 05:01:20 PM »
Hi, all.
Just got my new kayak. I know safety should be my number one concern. Other than life jacket and maybe a dry suit for cold water, I am considering a personal locator beacon that can send SOS and GPS location in case of emergency. Any recommendations from this group? Thanks in advance. |
