When I looked into making a bamboo gaff, the hard part was finding Calcutta bamboo. You can find it on line but it Wasn't practical to purchase. I ended up making one from wooden dowel and coating it with epoxy to waterproof it.

If you have health insurance. Go to hospital. It’s not worth risking your eyesight.  I delayed two ER trips this year and regretted it both times.

I can sit on a kayak or surfboard all day and don’t get sick but  standing on a boat makes me feel ill in minutes.

I get the transderm skop (Sp?) patches from Kaiser and they are great.

For those of u who get blurry vision. Do u wash your hands really well after applying the patch?  I know that if u get the medicine on your hands and rub your eye, u will get blurry vision.

I have to agree that you should never confront someone about this sort of thing. It can lead to escalation and god only knows who you are confronting or their mindset. Call law enforcement. If they show up in a timely fashion, great. If not, it’s just a couple crabs.

I run a bow tie down to the tow hooks under the front bumper. For the rear I tied some webbing around a small block of 2x4. Works the same as those Anchor points just not as pretty.

I switch back and forth between a Spyderco PM2 and a Benchmade 940.

For what it's worth, after experimenting with different rod holders on my trident 13, I've found that using a rocket launcher style rod holder avoids interference with my paddle stroke.

I had an Atlantic salt and loved the knife. Unfortunately, it's currently sitting at the bottom of the SF Bay near the ARW. No more expensive knives for the kayak. Stainless Morakniv companion is $15, has a sheath and does okay in the salt with quick rinse at the end of the day

A bead swivel between the dodger and the bait makes a difference in keeping the leader from getting twisted and tangling on itself.

I have the 2018 version but have not used it enough to meaningfully comment.

Just to add to the confusion. It's been changed again.

The kayak is presently hanging upside down on the roof of my packed garage but I’ll see if I can get some photos tomorrow.

I have a trident 13 and use an inexpensive Garmin Stryker.  I have the transducer rigged through the scupper hole, but it definitely required some Gerry, rigging but it now works well.  I also installed the Garmin in hull mount for the transducer, but have never tried it, although, I hear it works.

General Talk / Re: ARW Encinal Boat Ramp: CLOSED 4/22/2020

Interesting.  I figured the closure was coming with the new gate getting installed last week.

The gate was not locked this morning and people were launching boats as well as fishing from the rock wall.

Did there used to be a fence there?  Honestly, I never noticed it if there was one.
