General Talk / Alameda Rock Wall
« on: April 17, 2020, 08:24:11 AM »
I drive by ARW often  on my way to work. It looks like they are installing a gate at the entrance to the parking area.

Hopefully it won’t be locked but the wall itself has had lots of people on it fishing since the shelter in place order went into effect.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Track Mount for Scotty Rod Holder
« on: March 26, 2020, 10:32:51 AM »
Since I was stuck at home this weekend I finally had time to complete a project.  I've been using the scotty gear head track adapter for my rod holder but it drives me crazy always tightening when I'm trolling.  Eventually, my rod moves enough that it interferes with paddling.

This was really easy to make with a cheap cutting board from the market, some stainless steel nuts and bolts from West Marine and a railblaza track mount kit.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / SAN PABLO RES. 4/3
« on: April 11, 2019, 11:23:55 AM »
My son was on spring break last week and we went to San Pablo Res.  We fished from the bank as he's not a good swimmer yet.  I always forget this place exists but its a pretty nice local lake to throw a line in the water.  We caught three nice trout in about 2 hours.

My 6 year old caught the trout he is holding in the picture (assuming it posts - this is my first attempt at posting a photo).  I redacted his face in the photo as I don't like posting pictures of my kid online.  Needless to say, he is smiling.  At 6, he has already caught the largest trout in the family!

Hi:

I'm new to kayak fishing but have been looking at this forum for a couple years.  Just purchased a Trident 13 and am hoping to get out on the water near Alameda for the first time this weekend.
