Title says it. Anyone heading out to Fort Ross or Timber Cove on Friday July 20 (Friday)?

2
Perfect day at the gorge. High was close to 80 down at the bottom. Cool piece of water.

Having a hard time waiting until the last Saturday in April. Going to head down to the Middle Owens river on Sunday. Not expecting to see many fishermen, seems to be a strenuous hike down into the gorge.  Feel free to drop a message if your interested. I've never fished here before so I don't have any insight to offer other than what I've read online. Smallish Brown Trout who are not very picky about what floats by, flows above 70 CFS.

Anyone fishing the Somoma coast this coming Saturday, or is everyone going up to Albion for the weekend?

Ended up with three on the boat on Thursday night and one to the boat on Friday, all jigging. Nothing crazy for me this trip, but check out this report... http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=71408.0

Been searching the internet for a while for more information. Will Lake Trout hit a mooched anchovy?

I've been planning on going this Friday for awhile. Where are you launching at? I was debating between cave rock and trolling for Browns or Richardson and targeting macks.

I'm doing the Richardson/Mac hunt on Friday morning. Might move around in the afternoon/evening.

Safety First / Re: Donner lake drowning
« on: March 04, 2016, 10:56:50 AM »
Being in a canoe with no PFD on a windy day on a very cold lake is a bad idea. Still not sure how you capsize a canoe in those conditions, [...].

The east end of Donner lake is one of those places where less than 10mph wind can make it choppy and a nuisance to fish. 15mph, and you get tight waves that begin to break. Anything around 15mph at the east end; you best focus on maintaining balance, especially if tying knots, reaching behind your back to grab gear (this ones almost got me a couple of times), or general fiddling on the deck. Never been on the lake during an active lake wind advisory and 15-20+ winds, but I can't imagine it being very relaxing.
