I'm a trout / salmon fisherman and my bass fishing knowledge is zero or almost . In the past minnows have worked well but I have limited room on my mini-x  for a bait bucket and no need to search bait shops for minnows . Should I go with a drop shot / worm or what this time of the year ? I assume the bass are still on their beds or at least the males are at the end of April ? Any help would be much appreciated . Awhile back I asked about scupper plug wheels for a OK Scrambler ; was told not to use them because the OK's were to weak at the scuppers . Different kayak , same question , how about on a Tarpon 120 ? One of my buddies just bought one and it is surprisingly heavy , not something he is going to be lugging very far . I have a set of wheels for him but don't want to hurt his kayak .

Took my new Mini-X out for its virgin cruise to Lake Solano and thought I might as well bring a pole and drag around a F-9 Rapala to see if anything was biting . Skunk , as I expected ! They ( F&G ) quit stocking trout a few years back as they did not want to continue stocking where there was a native population of fish , no cross breeding allowed . Heard triploids or douploids would be stocked as they are sterile , never happened !     Turned into a nice paddle as the weather was great and lots of wildlife to view . Lots of differentt kinds of waterfowl and more turtles than I have ever seen before . Will post up in kayaks about the Mini and seat I used .

Where did they go ?

Gone from a TT to a fifth wheel and can no longer use my 1 year old Thule rack . A shame I have to sell it as it is a very engineered and beautiful rack .

$400 or offer / possible trade for Mini-X

Bit of a dilemma , sold my trailer and bought a 5th wheel and can no longer use my rack for transporting my kayaks . Anyone here with a 5th wheel , how do you transport your kayaks .

Thinking I may go to a mini-x or a OK frenzy , any suggestions as to these  two or any others in this size range ? The 5th wheel has a bumper that extends a couple of feet and a couple of shorter kayaks should fit there nicely .

Nothing to do with kayaking but , why is it that everytime I go NCKA.com I am asked to logon ? Never had this issue until a day or 2 ago and I have the stay logged on forever checked .

While leaving BerrySS2 I checked my phone for messages , one from my Wife , hysterical and uncontrolable sobs , could not make out a word . I knew something was terrible bad as she has only cried a couple of times in our 30 years and never like this . Had no clue , so the Chevy truck went like a jet home .

My 9 year old Jack Russell , Squirt had died an hour or so after I left that a.m. , she was normal ( crazy ) and outside with me as I loaded the kayak and stuff that morning . She had a seizure or  heart attack and very quickly gone , in just a minute or two . She was my baby and constant companion since a pup , always with me at home and never  missing a camping trip and on my fishing boat often . She knew quite a few campgrounds on our northern coast and southern Oregon and ALL the Crystal Lakes Basin CGs . Spoiled dog sleeping in  my bed , getting a nibble of everything I ate , my baby since the kids grew up . Going to have to find different CGs this year as our regular spots will hold too many heart breaking memories . I'm not handling this well and I've lost best friends and parents and this is hurting like no other . This is not going to heal soon enough . I could go on and on but don't want to bore .

I have a brand new doggy life vest that will fit a 20-25 lb. dog that goes to a good home , first to speak up gets it , I will pay the shipping . Never been used , was waiting for warmer weather to take her on the yak , just in case one or both of us ended up swimming .
