They just announced we can use traps again starting on the 12th.

Jerry, sites were already booked up over 10 months ago. I had friends try to get reservations back in may and couldn’t.

Who all is coming out?  I’ll be there Wednesday thru Sunday.  Hoping for some good weather and tasty crab. Maybe a uke jam or two also.

Kayak Fly Fishing / Re: Kayak drives
« on: February 17, 2022, 06:43:06 PM »
My $0.02.  I have Native Titan.  I have not taken beyond the delta, but I stand up in it all the time to fly cast.  I find it super stable.  I can't imagine sitting and stripping streamers.  One pain is if if I'm in current, I am constantly going between sitting and standing to adjust kayak position.  Sometimes I drop anchor to hold position to work a section of bank then pull up and drift a bit to get to next section...  I'm not sure a typical kayak drive would handle this well.  A trolling motor with spot lock would be great but $$$.  (If I had to do again, I would have just bought a small aluminum with outboard and put on trolling motor.  by the time you trick out your kayak, you'll be thousand($) into it.  For my Native, I need a launch ramp anyway...)

I drag a 4' long big chain off the side of my kayak to drift with the tides in the delta.  It keeps me pointing at the shore pretty good too.

Cancer sucks big time.  My wife is lucky to be a survivor.  I did lose my best friend to cancer a couple years ago.

Stay strong and keep smiling.

In case you get bored, you could tie me up some surf perch flies.

I fly paramotors.

That's hot.  I watch the tucker "risky biscuits" youtube videos sometimes.  Looks like so much fun.

Tucker is a big name in paramotoring, I even have one of his stickers and a bunch of shirts.  It is a blast, nothing beats having the wind directly in your face!

Fishing Tournaments and Events / Lost camera at Crabfest
« on: January 30, 2022, 02:10:53 PM »
I lost my little Minion Insta360 camera near the road behind space 90. If anyone finds it or picked it up Saturday evening I would love to get it back. Attached is a picture of what it looks like. It’s in a Minion clamshell type case.

Thanks

Will the Sonoma county order today affect the crabfest gathering?

What gathering?  We just all happened to show up at the same time and know each other.  Plus my rv will be more than 6' from any other rv.

Right on Scott!  If I do make it up (pending accommodations atm) that would be super sweet!  Basically only fished in streams, which isn't really casting.  Would love some instructions!

I'll be in site 90 Wednesday thru Sunday, stop by any time.  My Jeep will be parked in front of my rv and i fly an NCKA flag out front.

You too Papa Al, all are invited over to my site.
