Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Baja still kicks ass!!!!
« on: December 12, 2008, 01:30:22 PM »
Quick post:
SFAlex, Wasteoid and I are down here in baja and have been slaying some fish. Actually, James caught a halibut about half an hour ago. Any, here's a shot of a 48" WSB I caught the other day...
Please see whereeaglesdare.org for further details on this trip... Hope all is well in Norcal, primarily SC.
We'll be at rancho leonaro soon!

by the way, if you make it down here, bring crocodiles....

Anyone going in December??
My brother Alex (SFAlex on here) and buddy James (Wasteiod??) will be in Baja for the whole month of December before Alex and I split off towards the mainland and James heads back to Santa Cruz. If anyone is planning a trip, it'd be rad to meet up and kill some pelagics!
Wooooooooooo!!!!
Cheers

dude, sorry you missed them, but at least you gave it a go!
they're in there!

6
yeah, no snagging for me. If that's what I have to do to boat a big WSB, I won't be boating a big WSB....
oh well.

seabass schmeebass read this one:
"Ed just brought in two seabass. They’re still around and plentiful if you manage not to spook them. The “little one” is 27 pounds, the larger one is 36, both caught off the cement ship. They do seem to like that area for some reason. Probably the bait - sardines are still all over the place. Whales too. And Kurtis saw a great white shark this morning, but it left before he could get a picture. Bummer"

Could be a salmon shark too, I guess...

Hell, I was just out there Sunday... caught nothing except a coho... hated to see him go..
Ain't stopping me... yet..

Dammit. Had a ~20lb flattie at the boat and lost it. My leader just too long, my gaff just too short. Lost it...
Came home with only rockfish and left some under sized lingers swimming...
Almost lost tears over this. Did lose the gaff.

This was all Wasteiod's fault.
Too embarrassed to leave a real report on this one.
Lessons learned.
Holding back tears typing.
Dawn patrol friday AM???

looks like James (wastoid?) and I will probably see ya'll out there. Fished a bumpy davenport today for only one small RF. I know.... times are tough. So we went out to MBK and James treated himself to a brand new P13 angler...
First run tomorrow, Capitola launch, around 7. Hope to see you all and meet some new people. Allen, glad to hear you're back. Had a good laugh with Howard M. up in AK when he told me why you were off the yak....
Okay, fingers crossed, flat fish for everyone on a kayak tomorrow!! WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Hey Allen,
I saw you on your way back from Monterey in Moss Landing on 1, were you wondering who was waving from the tan 4runner?? I was going the other way...
Glad you caught some fish, man. Davenport's been slow for me this year too.
Be god to see you soon, let's go get 'em...
