lowrance elite series

anyone running this equipment's on there yak and if so how do you like it and how did you mount the transducer it huge

I run a Elite 5 and I just Marine goop the transducer in the hull. Lots of threads on here to show you how to do it, it's extremely effective.

I want to mount outside of the hull for water temperature
And the elite 9 to will not  fit my ram ball mount I need to do it differently

I doubt very many people are using a nine inch fish finder. I mount my FF on a side board mounted to the slidetrax. If you don't want to go thru the hull you can use a transducer arm instead. It has it's own drawbacks but it does work.

I was going to get a 7 but they were out plus it's going to be easyer on my eyes there getting worse not better sucks to lose an inch of good space on the yak but everything's a trade off

Besides it can double as a sail

Just in case someone else is crazy enough to do this
I mounted my lowrance 9 ti on a ram mount
And the giant transducer in an adapter the adapter floods with water
So that's another thing to Check  before  going through an inspection it dose have drain holes

I love my elite 4 but have an older revo that doesn't accommodate the transducer.  Since downscan doesn't work well through the hull I currently run a DIY arm that uses the hobie sail hole.

The arm works but is kinda ugly and gets in the way at times. If anyone else has non damaging mounting ideas please share.

got out on the water funnily this set up is great the visibility and access to the ff is great my only concern is wrapping it in sign board to help protect it from spray and create a sun block for it for Brite days by off setting the unit its totally out of my way
