Like everyone else said it depends what you are targeting.

Also keep in mind that you may be the target on the bar. It is one of the shakiest places on the planet.

I used to be a dealer for both COD and Surf to Summit.  The Apex is a straight knock off but without the quality or longevity  of Surf to Summit.  S2S gear is ridiculously durable.

You'd think so but over the years most tackle manufactures have abandon kayak specific products.  Shimano tried with its bait tank (which was a GREAT product) and had the same results as the Baidarka...sales flop.

Generally speaking kayak fisherman are CHEAP bastards compared to other segments, so we don't get a lot of love.

I really can't recommend the rudder enough. Some boats are just a lot better with one, and this boat is one of those boats.

The seat is just plain decadent. Super duper comfy.

The glass/graphite models were very durable.  The all graphite models had quality issues and would occasionally break.

It was an elegant solution, just ahead of its time.  QC issues combined with small market and they didnt sell. So they were discontinued.

Too bad no one has picked up where the Baidarkas left off.

The new seat and cockpit are stupid comfy.

FYI-I added a rudder to mine and I love it even more.
