General Fishing Tips / Re: Rod leashes.« on: June 09, 2006, 08:26:28 PM »
I found that old cell phone charging cords with a brass clip work well, you don't even need anything for the rod. Just make a circle at the other end and crimp, it holds on to the rod just fine and easy to change rods, if your storing

Had a great time making bait/fishin, good job again paddlefish/natural, I did not catch anything on the awsome bait we had, I had to go in early and was late so I fast trolled a silver broken back rebel with a white worm trailer and picked up two small Halibut on the way in. The Butts, where not much bigger than my lure, but man they hit hard, you still must be sore Paddlefish....DANGLIN

Great weather but, not much action. We fished with freshly caught smelt which looked good enough to eat but, alas, nothing. saw a few caught, striper, heard someone got a nice halabut on a yak. I happen to luck out on the return troll with a silver broken back reble with a white worm trailer and caght two small Halibut. My first halabut!Wow!

First time on, not sure if this is working, I avoid computers like the plague. Spent time walking the Berkely Pier today while my wife and kids walked the dog. I found want-a-be kayakfisherman had landed stripers 10-15lbs. and small halibut on live/dead anchovies, might try to get out there tomorrow. last week went to Berryessa and had 30/40 fish days, mostly a lb or so with some healthy twos here and there. Smallies/largemouth on small crawdad crankbait and drop shoting 4" robo worms. Then halled up to Yuba City, Feather river Monster striper action. The locals thought I was pretty funny trying to battle the huge flow, but finally gave up the artificals, anchord, cut a piece of sardine and watched about two dozen boats around me catch very small males. Then my trip paid off, 20lb or so/less striper! The locals where great, "Hey you need help over there???" "Where comin over Hang on! Don't fall in, your gonna die!" and such. Being this is the largest fish I've caught on my yak, and the biggest fish I've caught in long time, I thought there was going to be trouble, but easily took the bait hook hook out and off she sailed. No pictures, just getting started. Great to have found you guys, and look foward to future adventures... DANGLIN
