Spamming old topics and posting a string of "welcome to ncka" posts is not an acceptable way to reach the 10 posts needed to access certain sections of NCKA.
There seems to be a recent rash of these types of posts.
Myself and the other moderators are extremely lenient when it comes to moderating posts, but will not hesitate to delete posts that are obvious attempts to reach the 10 post mark.
Feel free to add something of substance, but I will personally delete any obvious post spams I see without explanation.

If someone does that, rather than delete posts, just set their post number manually to negative 100 or so. Less policing, more lolz.

Another new guy, interesting reading so far.just wanted to drop a line an say hello. New to kayak fishing, but not fishing or kayaks. Going to be interesting learning about anchors, storage, depth finders, etc. it looking forward to it . Will apologize in advance for dumb question an bad spelling !! Thanks

We really aren't like this sick, disgusting, twisted thread might lead one to believe. We really do almost ONLY talk about fishing from kayaks, reels, fresh tender bait, sinkers, stiff rods, hookers, whoops, hooks, luring young unsuspecting (aha, caught you, you sick fellow) FISH to bite our hooks, weather, gear, etc....

There really are few rules here. The major one is "No personal attacks". Though it's sometimes hard to figure out when you guys are attacking vs. just fooling around. The other rule that is usually not a problem is "No postings of a commercial nature". And "No racial slurs" or the likes. Other than that, have at it, you ASSHOLES!

My name is Jonathan Ridley (screen name JRidley) and I am new to this forum and new to kayaking, angling, and freediving/spearfishing. I have a 15 ft Malibu Kayak eXtreme and an Okuma Tundra 8 ft pole with stock reel. I am still outfitting the kayak with some essentials to make ocean-going safer: GPS, spare paddle, fish finder, visipole (light + flag), replacing some broken eyelets, installing bungees, figuring out how to anchor the kayak if diving from it, etc. I. Looking forward to learning more about this rewarding sport and getting to know some of the members here.

Hello my name is Mitch Alhady and im currently a student a CSUMB and love kayak fishing, and spearfishing. I am originally from Sacramento but my dad grew up here and I am very familiar with the Monterey/ Pacific Grove area. I hope to get out on the kayaks with some of you guys!

Hey Everyone. I am a new guy on this forum... sort of. My name is Gordon from Brisbane (CA). I was actually on this forum years ago when "Mooch" was mooching anchovies off others while going for salmon. But I moved abroad to work for a few years, so Ive been off. Now Im back. I have an inflatable with a 5 Hp outboard. It was really fun to go out for rock cods and crabs.
Looking forward to do that sometimes again when I have some free time and the ocean is calm. In the past couple years, this in practice means I only get to go as often as a lunar eclipse happening. =(

Agreed. It's not "free time", anymore. It's time that you've meticulously scheduled so that it fits perfectly within a quark sized time-frame after your baby momma and child's needs have just been met so you can tend blissfully to your own. The struggle is real. Good luck!

Hi all, not sure what the 10 post thing actually gives me but would love to join next weekend if any kayak anglers are heading out in the bay, given the smoke has subsided. I actually am taking this coming Friday off to get out on the water. Thinking maybe launching out of oyster point but certainly willing to change my plan to not be on the water alone ;)

Hello,
I’ve semi retired and split my time between Kern and Lassen Counties. Fish and paddle around Buena Vista lake and Lake Almanor in a Pescador 12 or my float tube mostly. Recently picked up a Tarpon 120 to expand the fleet. While researching the Tarpon I found this forum and it seems to have a lot of good information on it, so I joined up.

Thanks. Yes Lassen and Plumas county areas are amazing for trout. I’m down in Kern county right now taking care of family stuff and climbing the walls wanting to get back on Lake Almanor. That’s actually how I found this forum because I was looking for fish reports, researching the new to me tarpon, and daydreaming about getting back up there next month.

Almanor is a finicky lake that requires time on the lake . There was once a guy who somewhat tamed it .With stories of multiple species days. :smt001 There were even folks trying to imitate his looks. :smt005
Buena Vista is next on the list.
You can do a search for Almanor in the upper right corner, or any other topic.

Thanks. Yes I’ve been reading a bunch of Clayman’s reports on Almanor over the last several hours. Priceless information there. In the summer and fall I’ve fished it quite a bit, but mostly fish the tributaries, so my knowledge of the lake is pretty limited. Clayman on the other hand seems to know every inch of it and how every change in season and weather effects it. Really good stuff.
Buena Vista isn’t even comparable to Almanor. It’s shallow, small, and murky. But it’s big enough to paddle around and chase fish now and then. Sure beats working. Lol
