ppickerell:
I bought a hobie sail from a member here that I want to rig on my wavewalker. I was looking into AI's but realized I really like these yaks and want to make a sail work. I bought a round sail that was fast but ungainly for this yak as far as deployment and take down due to the placement of the drive and pedals. So my question is will I be getting knocked down on a regular basis with the hobie sail? Should I plan for amas? I expect a rudder with more beef will be in order.

A bigger/sailing rudder definitely will help. Just dress for immersion and try it out with the sail to see if you need the amas or not.
