Yeah, the inspection can be a little nerve wracking. I always worry about picking up some condensation on the drive, so I usually stop just outside the park and wipe everything down just in case.
The guy at Del Valle is definitely a scrutinizer, but with some prep it isn't bad. He got me one time for a smear of water inside (debatable about "standing water" but whatever) and a couple drops of water in one of my flush mount rod holders. He was pretty unfriendly about it too, so I returned the attitude.
My next trip there I made sure to have everything dry, and passed with no hiccups. The guy was even a lot friendlier this time too.
Today, I went to Contra Loma - it is the closest lake for me. Trolled around all morning, nada. Saw a few fish roll the surface, but nothing wanted to play. TONS of bait. Every corner and shallow spot had huge schools of minnows.

Trolled 4 hours, and only hooked a 2lb trout that popped off at the kayak. That will most likely be my last trip in the Stealth which is a minimalist setup.
