Not sure if this is a good deal or even a good seat, but it seemed like it might be both, so I thought I'd pass it on.

It wouldn't.
You need the pegs at the bottom of the seat to keep it from sliding out from under you.
Ask me how I know.  :smt002

It's not difficult to add this pegs to any seat. And the pegs are pretty cheap by Hobie standards.
