In the rare case of keeping a ray, ill cut the wings off and peel the skin off. ill slice the wings in strips smd fry them like calamari.
If you are at a market and they are selling scallops, check out the grain the scallop meat. If its not vertical, it may be a "scalloped" ray wing.

Feb 2010: Monterey Red Can.
Out kayaking with a buddy and saw a big grey fin stalking seals that were frantically hanging on for dear life onto the can. Shark circled thebcan then came headed for us in the yaks. Shark circles us about four times then glided under our yaks into the deep. About an 18ft shark.

Aug 2015: Santa Cruz mile marker. Harrassed by a curious little 6fter while halibut fishing.

Sad news, first ever fish I cought from the bay was a thresher in foster city and was hooked on bay shark fishing. Those leapords are beautiful.

Havent been to Tomales in years, and was wondering if there are any reefs to fish for rockfish out in the bay. Iv seen many reports about salmon, halibut, sharks/rays, and whales in the bay, but havent thought about rockfish.

Those look great! Im hoping someone will make baby rockfish for swimbaits. Id sure like to work a plump little 5inch blue rockie along the bottom.

After years of fishing the bay off the paddle board, Iv decided to pull the trigger and buy a yak.
