I actually have a lexa sitting in my garage that I haven't used yet, but I do use my squall 200 low profile almost every time I go out. It has survived a surf tumble and still casts and reels great (still need to grease the washers). I mainly use it for shallow rockfishing

Yep, most anemones can move around a bit, but tend to stay in one place for long periods of time.  Some species move more than others.  There are few species that can even swim a bit, but most species move along like a snail, but slower.   They can also completely detach and let the currents push them around until they find a new place to hang out.

Here's a time lapse of an anemone in a tank moving around.

WHAT I had no idea

Yeah, I was asking because I've had two salmon from Monterey this season (both wild) and they were a deep red. I would post a picture but I absolutely butchered the fillet job  :smt003

Definitely a first world problem, but I got incredibly lucky and caught 2 salmon within 15 minutes of each other. The bigger one was dark red while the (slightly) smaller one was pale orange. Then about a week later, I caught one in the same place, and it was orange, but not quite as faded as the previous. That third one had the most fat and was easily the tastiest of the 3. They were all boys, btw. The picture is of the first 2.

Interesting side by side. Were both of those wild?

The Patrick Star reference got me  :smt003

Loved reading the report Eric!

So 300 bucks for shit other people look at?  Vanity aint cheap I suppose.

If you pedal with the right action, you can get some pretty awesome topwater great white shark blowups. I'm waiting for Hobie to release the anchovie pattern

Would be fun but a 5+ hour paddle out to fish then to do a 5+ hour back sounds like way too much work. Need a gas boat to take you and the kayak out to the fishing grounds and back!

It'd be like 8 hrs return.  imagine yaking 20+ miles laden w tuna, b low riding lika mug, or dragging it hog tied 2 the gunwhales omg

Someone needs to tell HG about this (the guy that caught the marlin earlier this year)

Sounds like something down his alley!

Good call jremi, I was wondering if I should pick up a backup one while I'm at it. Yeah I was just cruising in open water and suddenly lost power, so who knows if the front one is a ticking time bomb as well
