If you are in the market for a new pair of sunglasses, I highly recommend Shady Rays.
I've wore them for 1.5 years and they are holding up very good.
They are affordable yet very good quality and they have amazing warranty.

Thanks for the video.

Those look great for the price, but I tend to lose my sunglasses more often than anything else on my AI, so I go super-duper-el-cheapo:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001YXRDC/?th=1

Although these are not polarized, they are remarkably scratch-resistant. They are also easy to clean on the water, which is important to me, as I'm often getting splashed when piloting my AI, and I hate looking thru water drops. I have a fairly small noggin myself, and these fit great, but they might be a bit tight if you are a human cabezon...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

That must be a “thing”… I have lost more pricey sunglasses verses the cheapest fishing off a kayak. The cheapest seem to hang around longer  , take some scratches better and never get lost ..kinda like an old gnarly cat..LOL

This is good info about sunglasses. I wear prescription glasses and checked their prices, seems  if I use Costco Optical for prescription sunglasses, price is better.

Costco sells polarized sunglasses for less than $30, branded as champion, bulova, hobie and their own kirkland...so if they are better than the $99 oakley if they end up in the soup  ;)

I already ordered my Smith Guide's Choice prescription sunglasses.
If I am unhappy with it, I will check out Shady Rays.

I always wear my sunglasses with a retainer to minimize loosing.

Beware of cheap sunglasses. Polarization is a minimum, but according to my optometrist, quality of UV A and B blockage varies. He says you need to look up lens ratings - I'm not sure where. Cheap sunglasses can actually do more harm than not wearing any, by increasing the dilation of your eyes, letting in more UV.

I wear $50 Cocoons over my prescription glasses. They look a little "out-there" but give good side protection. They can scratch easily though.

Not sure that I'd trust an optometrist on this issue, as the would seem to have a vested interest in selling expensive glasses. Here is an article where a bunch of cheap sunglasses were actually tested for UV protection:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2374185/Are-cheap-sunglasses-safe-We-asked-eye-expert-analyse-cut-price-shades.html

Although there were a couple of duds (for various reasons), the conclusion by their expert is: 'I've been pleasantly surprised,' says Mr Goldberg. 'It seems in the vast majority of cases the CE marks can be trusted and manufacturers are taking greater care about the type of sunglass they sell - even at the budget end of the market.'

Been wearing Pyramex Ztek glasses for everything for years. $2-3 a pair. UV protection, really light, they fit great, and with the rubber ends they stay on great.

https://safetyglassesusa.com/collections/pyramex-ztek

"Pyramex Ztek Safety Glasses. The extremely popular Pyramex Ztek offers a lightweight, frameless design, soft non-slip rubber temple tips, integrated nose-piece and hard coated lenses for superior scratch-resistance. The Pryamex Ztek's polycarbonate lenses provide 99.9% UV protection and are ANSI Z87.1-2015, and CSA Z94.3 certified."

Looked them up. UV protection. I'm in..Look like ones that are supplied to me at work Honestly, fishing sunglasses are almost disposable to me. I tend to damage them quickly. I have found adequate ones at walmart for about five bucks. Also UV rated.

I am also not a fashionista. So fit is more important than look.   :smt004

Seriously! My fav kayak fishing sunglasses are basic black polarized gas station glasses. $9, blocks the sun, and if they fall in the water, no big deal. As a bonus the arms pair well with both a ball cap and my wide brim sun hat.
