« on: November 01, 2018, 07:53:02 AM »
Hey gang, thanks for looking at my listing!!
I am selling my lightly used Prowler 13 (recently got into a 2019 Outback), and thought I'ld throw up a link for those who might be interested. I would be willing to work with price for forum members. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have!

General Fishing Tips / Alameda Rockwall-Landing in low tide?
« on: August 30, 2018, 10:41:50 AM »
Hey gang!
I'm thinking about giving it a go at the ARW this coming monday, as the conditions look good I think (high tide of 4.6 @ 7:35, low tide of 2.8 @12:35, wind WNW of 13 mph, 72 degrees).
The question I'm putting to you ARW veteranos is how difficult if at all will it be returning to the Encinal launch at the low tide, if at all?
Thanks for your time, and if you happen to see me out there, please holler at me! Dorky 43 year old white guy on a camo Prowler 13 over here!  :smt003

General Fishing Tips / Tomales Bay Leopards and Rays From Shore
« on: July 26, 2018, 03:13:11 PM »
Hey gang! I'm spending the day tomorrow with my eleven year old fishaholic nephew. He has never caught anything larger than a little planter trout, and i would love to see him hook into something that will rip line off the reel  :smt044. I grew up fishing sharks at the ARW, but that was a strictly night time affair (never had luck with big leopards during the day), and I wouldn't feel good about bringing him out there at night nowadays.
So I'm thinking a day trip to Tomales Bay for some old fashioned bank fishing, but I have no clue as to where to begin. If any of y'all know of a spot where we might have a decent chance at hooking into a ray or shark, it would be appreciated. Not asking for any honey holes (unless you're feeling extra super generous, than PM me  :smt003).
Thanks everyone!

General Fishing Tips / Discovery Bay Launching
« on: June 16, 2018, 05:01:13 PM »
Hey gang!
Does anybody know of another launch site other than the yacht club? I would like to get out more to the east side of things, and if I could reduce my paddle time a bit, that would be great.

Thanks for reading my post!

General Fishing Tips / What do you think? (Alameda Rockwall)
« on: June 09, 2018, 09:36:32 AM »
I've been having a blast on my recently acquired OK Prowler 13, fishing the East Bay reservoirs, Delta, and Clear Lake. What a hoot! Anyways, I feel like I'm ready to give the Bay a go, so I'm thinking a mellow trip to the ARW this coming Tuesday for some halibut trolling might be a good way to cut my teeth. Conditions are as follows. Wind: W 16mph Temp: 71 degrees Tide: Low of 0.9 at 5:41 am, high of 5.2 feet at 12:32 pm
I am thinking about launching at around 7:30, trolling/drifting for few hours, and getting off the water by around noon or so, before the wind really kicks up. What do y'all think? Is this a good plan? How would you change it?
Thanks for the input gang!
