General Talk / Re: Kiet’s transplant update
« on: June 12, 2023, 07:08:51 AM »
Ok…here is where Kiet stands as of now. He will travel back to Stanford this Tuesday, 6/12 for more tests. He will be assisted by his long time friend and nurse, Ryan.
Ryan has volunteered to be Kiet’s secondary caregiver, I will be the primary….if indeed Kiet receives a transplant. We will know more after this visit, the doctors claim an answer, either yes or no, will be forthcoming quickly.
Last weeks 4 day hospital visit was stressful….but offset by visits from all the usual suspects…two nights of great food and merrymaking at our rental house. Thanks to the 20 people who helped Kiet relieve his stressful situation
I will report back soon, Ron

General Talk / Kiet’s transplant update
« on: May 28, 2023, 08:04:38 PM »
Ok folks, more interesting news for Kiet. Kiet and I are heading down to Stanford Medical Facility for a 4 day visit
Not sure at this moment what types of test and evaluations he will go thru….starting on Monday 6/5, to Thursday 6/8.  Up to this point I have the opinion there will be 10 miles of red tape and 5000 hoops Kiet will have to jump thru, to become eligible for a lung transplant.
But…Kiet is committed…100% onboard. I will check back in after the 4 day visit with another report
Not sure if Kiet will be up for it, but it might be nice for you friends to visit…maybe for dinner   Give me a call or text and if possible, we can make a plan for dinner. Ron Perry. 925-577-7336.
    Thanks!!!! For his support!

Heading down to La Ventana for about a month, from June 18th to maybe July 15th. Fishing and diving with my 18ft aluminum CC. Staying at the campground in town, across from Pablo and Heli’s restaurant
Anybody tough enough to be down there, look me up for a beer, dive, or fishing trip. White Ford F-150 with white shell.

General Talk / Keit’s GREAT news
« on: April 26, 2023, 07:21:02 PM »
Just finished talking with Kiet. He is extremely jacked up.  On June 6th he has an appointment at Stanford to determine his potential eligibility for a lung transplant.
Please remember… I am the low level dishwasher/janitor/empty the waste paper baskets and clean out the toilet guy. Not exactly sure where this puts Kiet with his transplant. BUT, this has to be good news.
I plan to travel with Kiet to Stanford….what Kiet needs here is an advocate who understands the language and direction he should travel with his medical care. For me it is my wife.  If anyone in this field can step up and advise/ support/help Kiet with his options, please step up

On another note, thanks to Kenny Baker and Joseph Velho! These guys whipped ass at Kiet’s property a few weeks back. Tons of clean up, sold a ton of stuff, and now have Kiet’s property in manageable condition.  Still making a plan to cleanup and have a get together at Kiet’s place soon. Will keep all posted, Ron

Thanks! I will arrive about 9:00am on Friday….it’s going to rain sometime on Sunday. The sale stops at 2:00pm on Sunday, so I think I may head home…3 hours away, after we clean and close things up.
Kenny Baker will be there, along with Kiet’s roommate James and his son…..Kiet’s property is vast so the more eyes the better. Your dog is cool, we will bbq for dinner Saturday night, beer and who knows what else
I forgot something, may check in later, long day! Ron

Hi everyone, I am having a work day/weekend and garage sale at Kiet’s place, Cave Junction. This Saturday, April 15th and Sunday the 16th. I could use lots of help selling Kiet’s stuff and general clean up.
6000 West Side Rd, Cave Junction. I will be there Friday setting up and continuing to clean up. If anyone can make it, let me know how long so I can provide food/drink/sleeping accommodations.
Then…May 13th we will have a get together for Kiet, he will be back from Vietnam then. More info after the garage sale.
Thank you to all who have contributed $$$$ and help for Kiet!

« on: April 06, 2023, 07:29:20 AM »
Ok folks, weather is improving…here is the new plan.  I plan on heading up to Kiet’s place on Friday April 14th for a garage sale/clean up, and stay until Sunday the 16th.  I need help! If anyone can show up for any part of this I will supply food/beer/drink. I have two comfortable cots if you spend the night(s). 6000 West Side Rd, Cave Junction. Call or text 925-577-7336, Ron Perry Sharkie

Then…party on the west side…of Cave Junction! May 13th.  Kiet will be home and should be settled in.  Let’s have a Cove style shit-kicker. All are invited, family and friends. Kiets property is vast, lots of room…lets tear it up! I'll grab a keg, grill a bunch of goodies and we can contuine to help with a clean up.  More info to come later…suggestions welcome. Thanks to all who have helped, Ron

Ice/snow on 101, 199, 299…so, let’s put off any type of clean up and garage sale until we get better weather
I am close by so I am heading up tomorrow, 3/28, and 3/29.  Will get a good plan for us when we get better weather

Kiet has made progress with transplant news….if and when are not known yet, but Stanford may be his best option. I will keep people posted when I get more info.
Thanks to all who have contributed! Ron

Ok Kiet supporters, here is an update on my end of our effort…Kiet’s property clean-up. The weather is still lame….frost/ice/snow forecast for this upcoming weekend,  3/31 and 4/1.
So…I may head up for a day or two, but I don’t feel safe having a bunch of folks driving up/ over in bad weather. We still have time, let’s see what the following weekend looks like.
Once again, we could use lots of help/ muscle.  We can have a large BBQ in the evening, I’ll supply the beer and drinks, fish and food

Not sure about Kiet’s status on his insurance coverage….maybe Kiet can give a report. Tommy and wife are making the Go Fund Me project a go!!! Please help any way you can, Ron Perry 925-577-7336

Ok everyone…next weekend is OUT!!!  Possible snow and ice at Cave Junction.  I will push it back at least one week. Friday the 31st, and Saturday, April the 1st are OUT.
I like the idea about a raffle, let’s see what Tommy and his wife say. And to note, Kiet is selling his Ford pickup…. I think it is F250 turbo diesel 4x4 longbed….I will find out all info soon.  And he has a Porsche SUV of some type…will get the info on that
And a ton of cannabis grow items…it has to go, all of it
The new temporary clean up/sell date when I will be there is April 6, 7, 8, and the 9th.  I need help! Tommy and his wife will be the brains, I will provide the grunt work. Let’s do this. Ron Perry 925-577-7336. Please text. Thanks, Ron

I’ll send a message to Tommy and see what he and his wife think…or…any volunteers want to handle/set-up a Go Fund Me?
Beyond my skill level…I am just the ditch digger, empty the waste paper basket, and clean out the toilets.  Thanks to all, Ron

Ok folks, had a good night sleep and good clarity of thought.  What I need, and am good at, will be leading the charge to clean up Kiet’s place and prepare to sell all his belongings/gear/ect.
So…I will be asking for those who can roll up their sleeves and work their ass off on his property…you are hired. I will set up with Kiet’s roommate and cool dude, a place to crash if you stay the night (s), beer, food, and more
His property is vast, there is stuff everywhere…the cleaner we make it and the more we sell, the more $$$ Kiet will have for his operation
I AM NOT the accountant, we need someone to step up…hopefully Tommy will take the task and handle the $$$   Tommy is a bad ass, trustworthy dude. He gets my vote
Kiet’s property is just shy of Cave Junction….6000 Westside Rd.  I plan on heading back up either March 29th or the 30th…and hang until Sunday, April the 2nd.  But…plans change. If you can get there earlier, James will have work for you layed out.
I will supply beer, albacore, rockfish, and more. His property is sweet, about elevation 1600’, quiet. Text me if you like 925-577-7336, Ron Perry.  Let’s do this!
