Fished a skiff off the SC wharf on Labor Day.

Deployed wind anchor after the wind picked up about a mile off Steamers.  Noticed a silhouette that I thought was a school of bait fish. Realized the shape of the school was pretty consistent and what it actually was: 12-16’ GWS.

It’s a terrible pick because it kept its distance. If you zoom into the middle of the frame you can make out the general shape.

Good catch!

I think a shark sighting is kind of like a COVID infection.  Once you see it, you're inoculated against attack because  its not interested.  You'll get took when least expected if you deny the possibility of fatal threat, cuz if the shark wants you, its taking u

Odd that SWS and SC had incidents/sightings but not the "usual" spot?  :smt044

Once you see it, you're inoculated against attack because  its not interested.

This is why you should have your shark shield deployed and turned on all time, instead of waiting until you see a shark…
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

LOL!!!

"Odd that SWS and SC had incidents/sightings but not the "usual" spot?"

Al- That spot is actually a more common sighting/interaction area.  Sea Kayaker was ejected from his yak some years ago in almost the exact spot.  My one "at sea on kayak" sighting was less than 1/2 mile away in 40 FOW.

Glad it was a drive by and will point out that passings like this probably occur all the time with us being blissfully unaware.

Good news is they must not like the way we taste. If they did there would be a lot less kayaks in the salt. Lol
