I'm going to check see if Folsom Lake is covered.  Folsom Lake is Bureau of Reclamation but managed by California State Parks under an agreement.  If it is covered, I want to know if that includes my boat fee as well.  And if THAT'S covered, I'd like to know if the fee for a slip is covered!  Ha!  Probably pushing that though.

Doing good Paul!  I'm on my second month of chemo, day 1 yesterday, day 2 today. It slows me down the first week or so, then back to normal.

After your full recovery, we need to celebrate with a ski/snowboard trip or fishing trip.

Golden Access Pass used to be $10 Lifetime, Trump raised it to $80 plus $10 service fee.

I turned 62 this year and bought mine for the $80 + $10. I look forward to using it.

I thought the increase was originated by the previous administration.

https://www.nationalparkstraveler.org/2016/12/updated-price-senior-pass-going-80-buy-it-now-10

"With President Obama having signed the National Park Service Centennial Act into law, the price of a senior pass to the national parks, good for your lifetime, will soon jump to $80. If you're 62 or older and don't yet have your pass, buy it now before the price increases."

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2015/09/01/obama-proposes-15-billion-national-parks/71533586/

"The Obama administration sent to Congress a $1.5 billion proposal to upgrade national parks Tuesday, using a combination of tax money, fee increases, donations and commercial partnerships for a three-year improvement plan marking the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service."

"Those improvements would be funded, in part, by increasing the cost of a lifetime pass for senior citizens. People aged 62 and older now pay $10 for the lifetime pass, which would be raised to $80. The remaining $70 would help fund a $300 million National Park Service Second Century Fund. The proposal would also add 5% to the cost of camping or lodging in national parks."

Glad I didn't buy my pass and can take advantage of the Vet free access.  I have my California driver license now embossed as a Vet and that is acceptable.  Also, El Dorado County VA center issues a Vet ID card I use at Home Depot.  10% off everything.  Works great!  They tell me thank you for your service and I tell them I was honored to have been given the privilege to serve.

Not totally disabled; however, that is how I received the free access.

Interesting!  Home Depot told me no veterans discount!  Lowe's does the 10% and has Veterans parking up front.  I'll have to ask again at Home Depot.

I’ve been getting 10% discount at Home Depot before and as late as this morning’s purchase. Home Depot only ask for Vet Id. Lowes need to register your vet I D and phone and once registered you just have to ask for discount and tgey will ask for your phone number and that’s it☺️

Yeah, the local HD folks aren't very well versed on this updated policy. But it's getting better. Colma HD gives it no problem. Westlake HD needs reminders. It used to be just on major holidays but now it's everyday. I just show my VA card and I have my smartphone ready to show them the new policy.

I bought the pass before the price went up but I guess I won't be needing it anymore.
