ordering a Fish Finder today.

that was difficult without knowing basic depths and temps.  (turned the pic B/W to hide background.  hahahah)

The new hull is better than my last one.  1st my pedal drive clicks in smoothly and stays put.  My other kayak it would pop itself out like it was possessed.  2nd, the new one floats straight.  My old one canted to the left side. I would have to move my butt to the right side of the seat to get it to run level.  I think my old one was warped from the get go.    Whatever.

The bass were FIRED up.  Pics later.  Just happy with the better hull.  If it cracks again, I’m plastic welding it.

Nitro..congrats to the sale.

may I ask how complicated it was to install that Garmin Tranducer into the Lowrance ready transducer location?

Update!!  Billy called. Hobie is putting a new hull on the next shipment out.

They covered it.  I’m going to add more stuff foam in the interior strategically I think.  Cheap yoga blocks from the thrift store.
Did you grab a different color just for fun? :smt006

Haha.  I was too nervous to speak excited.  Asking for a new color wasn’t on my radar.

I’m gonna trust the warranty process.

My Hobie cracked on both sides.  Same location. Right at the bottom of the gap in the cupholders. The opening where the “Ear” of a coffee cup would go, and where water is allowed to drain. Hobie should close that opening and simply put a scupper hole in the bottom to drain out.

Saddened.
But I did catch my two first LMB of 2024.  Happy!  😃

that is a sweet creative rig!!

I am not interested, but if you don't mind..I have questions!

I have helped my friend life that motor in/out of his Hobie PA12.  that is not a light motor!!  how does the Outback feel in the water that nose heavy?  you put the battery in the back right?

that is a one objective motor mount?  how did it mount up front?  you drilled holes, or used the front lid hinge connection points?

good luck with the sale.  that thing is SICK.  I never thought it could be done.  but you did it!

Dont over think it.

It's a boat without a motor  :smt003 :smt044

hahah...a rowboat doesnt need a DMV visit I imagine.  neither does one of the giant swans you can pedal around the lake with your girlfriend.  :D

with a motor...your are registering a friggen SWAN.  that would derail the DMV!!!

This just answered my question in another thread about paying registration for putting a motor on. It’s ridiculous that this state wants to charge you for putting a trolling motor on a kayak.

it doenst bother me at all.

the regs reads anything with a motorized propulsion or something.  it is totally on me, that I crossed that threshold.  the line in the sand.  it was cheap and easy but only because I did my homework and I went in prepped to the gills.  I had an answer or a document for every question.

True it is what it is. I guess I’m just still a bit annoyed about anything DMV related after spending most of a day and a ton of money registering a new to us car last week.

grrr..that is brutal.  the DMV is a bit of a wild-card visit.  it could in any direction :D

and almost ALL states have the same requirement.  CA is not the pioneer in any of this.  I think my reg fee was the same as my friends in MN.  I think I read that TWO states don't have this requirement.  (I have not fact-checked it)
