I’m officiating a championship high school football game this weekend in Santa Rosa. It’s forecast to be very wet and windy. I will be wearing my wetsuit jacket, but we are a crew of 5 and I’d love to be able to let the other guys wear wetsuit jackets for the game. 1 or 1.5mm jackets would be perfect.

Hit me up. I’ll buy the beer.

Six Tips to bust NCKA's Member's Balls

written by crash

Introduction
I'm the #2 asshole in residence here at NCKA, and I've noticed that lots of people have different opinions on how things should be and what we should and should not talk about.  Recently, oldfart started a thread that he was dissappointed that we didn't have a lenghthy winter thread with members at each other's throats.

While many of the members have moved on to Facebook and instagram to express their displeasure at each other, we could all use some direction in how to bring it back to NCKA and piss each other off good and proper.

Here are some tips to help

1.  Emulate someone else's posting style

This seems like an obvious one, but with the recent lack of acrimony it needs to be stated.  Pretend you are someone else, preferably someone with a peculiar posting style that is instantly recognizable.

TIP Add a photograph, include a link at the bottom to drive traffic off NCKA to your own monetized website.

2.  Hijack a fishing related thread with non-fishing related commentary

This is a particularly effective way to shitpost.  The more tangential, the better.

3.  Boycott Annie's Organic Foods

If you see AlexB, tell him to come back.  Winter isn't the same without him, and it's almost salmon season.  He's hardly posted at all since like November or something, like he's got more important stuff going on.

4.  bmb is a dick

I know you all knew that, just a friendly reminder.

5.  Cucks and Libtards and Nazis

Leave that shit for facebook.  We don't care.

Pic for attention.

« on: November 07, 2018, 09:29:15 PM »
Anybody have a rocket box in decent shape that you no longer use?  Looking for the long narrow type, it needs to share space on the roof with a revo on j hooks.

The grommets are a fantastic idea.  The rest is amazing too but probably not going to be super useful to me.  But those grommets are awesome.  Video is in English.

We are doing oysters again on Friday night.  The procedure is a little different this year because I had to chase down so many people last year.

OYSTERS MUST BE PICKED UP ON FRIDAY NIGHT WITHIN AN HOUR OF THE END OF THE SAFETY MEETING

Seriously.  I'm not going to chase you down.  I was running around until dusk last year dealing with oysters when I should have been prepping myself for the tournament.  I understand that things come up and you might not make the trip or end up running late for whatever reason, and if that is the case please message me on NCKA and let me know, but if you haven't picked up your oysters within about an hour after the end of the safety meeting or made other arrangements with me then I'm going to give them to someone else and I'm probably going to publicly shame you.

I don't have a good source for Pacifics right now so just Kumomoto oysters are available.

Kumomoto oysters are again at my cost, $8.50/dz.

I had grand plans to collect funds prior to leaving for shelter cove, but I have had recent issues with PayPal and I don't want to deal with that now so I will be collecting when you pick up.

I will have a collection jar available for Pay It Forward and any funds collected in the jar or that I collect in excess of my costs will go 100% to the A-Hulls.  Please consider giving generously given the hit that the fund took in the last couple weeks.

Please place your order by Monday May 14 at 9pm.

I know little about web hosting and e-mail.  I have used GoDaddy without incident for 7-8 years, but today had e-mail issues and a poor customer service experience.  I do not want to use them anymore.

Website does not need to function as anything other than some text and photos, with my telephone number on it.  I do not want people to even be able to leave comments or messages through the website. It would be nice if it rendered on mobile devices, but I don't even care that much about that.  No shopping carts, etc. needed at all.  I would not expect more than a few hundred page visits per year.  Super, super basic make like its 1998 type of web hosting.

Most importantly, I need reliable e-mail with very high limits and no or close to no file size restrictions.  Someone needs to be able to e-mail a 30 minute long video in 4k without issues, tiff, pdf and jpg files in excess of 10mb, that kind of thing.  I don't want to use google cloud links.  I want to keep my email addresses that I have now and I need any transition to be seamless.

Thanks folks for any insight or direction.

General Talk / New Shelter Cove brewery hiring executive chef.

Passing this along.  Not sure if the photos in the ad are stock photos or of actual brewing equipment, but a brewery next to the campground is kind of an exciting development.

For Sale / 2 Avet reels NiB. One MXL 5.8, One MXL 5.3, both RH, $200
« on: September 13, 2017, 04:14:15 PM »
Helping a LCKA guy out who isn't so familiar with forums, not a member here.  2 reels, new in box, $200 ea.  I'd buy the 5.8 if it was a lefty.

I can get you in contact with him, or hit up Sean Perryman on LCKA facebook.  I can deliver to Open Shelter or arrange NCKA express handoff there to points south.

Edit for price drop

General Talk / Kayaker run over by power boat in Trinidad 7/2/17
« on: July 02, 2017, 05:28:30 PM »
Three of our local kayakers were out fishing today and one was run over by a PB. He and his kayak will be OK, but it was extremely negligent, on a clear day, and PBer just not paying any attention. Blasting their picture so we can stay clear and be aware.
