I'll be cruising with 6 big troughs to GS in 12 days.
Starting from the bottom: two 41's that have been awaiting delivery for way too long - Corey has the triplet to these, two tournament troughs (48.5 and 50 inches) that are used to measure fish at the events and have only ever been hosed down or washed in the surf, and this year's GS Twin 45's - one for AOTD and one for the raffle. Let me know if you think you might need one. 4

New owners - Jack finally sold. They're cool and very business-like. I expect that reservations and delivery will be reliable and straight forward. There will not be any kind of pay per person, like Jack would do. It's strictly a campground transaction. As for the potluck and awards, plus raffle, I have rented the pavilion and patio, so we are set for that - including Jack's Taco Shack! This thread certainly hasn't lived the life of past GS threads, but I hope that those who are following are as stoked as I am for what we're putting together for the weekend of May 11th. 6

Rare spot too. 12

"Any number of hooks and lines may be used in all ocean waters..." That's pretty lame that they mislead like that. When rockfish/lingcod and salmon are the most popular saltwater fisheries in Nor Cal, they shouldn't write something so blatantly flawed and expect fishermen to just figure it out. 13

General Fishing Tips / Re: How many of you have 2-rod stamp?« on: April 17, 2024, 07:24:10 PM »
It is my understanding that the two rod stamp is only for put-and-take fisheries, like lakes where the trout are planted. Anywhere that has requirements for barbless hooks or bait restrictions will not be open to use of the two rod stamp.
The two rod stamp is not required in the ocean, and there are few species that can be fished with two rods at once - California halibut being by far the most common two rod species. I've lost count over the years of how many people want to live in the fantasy world where you can fish two rods until you catch and keep a lingcod, rockfish or salmon. Trolling with two rods isn't that tough in the ocean - depends how the conditions are. I've landed a few doubles on Cali's - definitely fun! 15
