Chorizo laden SUPER NACHOS? how can i get all that CHEESE to melt over and inbetween the chips?....wrap it all in foil and put over some coals?....I think it might work! :smt001
anyone ever attempt this?

Melt the cheese in a pan and Drizzle :smt003 Just like at the Ballyard

not VELVETA Mike...real cheese!.....i think grated, sprinkled throughout the pile of chips&goodies, put it all in one of those large aluminum trays, covered w/foil and placed in a webber or over a fire ring for a while would heat it all and melt the cheese.....just like in the microwave! :smt011

melting real cheese in a pot is a hassle and if not done right...it will seperate and leave me with a pan of gooe w/oil on top.

Do like Tim the Tool Man and just use a torch.
It works wonders!!!!
Just attach a hand held propane bottle and you are good to go.

Hi Adam;

I'm not much into car camp so most of my meal are GORP
French bread, Sardines, Anchovies and stuff that only needs hot water.    I enjoy SV Beer but, I have closer ties to "The AndersonValley".
At one time I would bring my "Smoked Salmon Pasta" but, that's only a pipe dream now! :smt010
I'll trade a "BOONT" ESP for a cup of Joe and hot water for my food.

Hey Sumo, I just noticed your VMGR-152 patch in your avatar. Were you with the squadron? I was an airframer with VMA-214, the Blacksheep, from '93-'99. Never spent any time on Okinawa, but I did 3 WestPacs, so imagine you guys were our refuelers at times. (sorry for the threadjack)

Yep, if your birds got refueled around Japan, they were probably from our squadron.  We talked at BAM last year.  I probably didn't mention VMGR.

Anyway, Ill see you there. (BAM, not at any WestPacs  :smt044)

Costco  - Double pack of Tri-tip to go on my Weber Little Smokey.
The two slabs fill it up nicely.
and
Pot full of plain white steamed rice "Basmati"
(sometimes this is all my 4 year old will eat)

I'll also offer up two large abs cleaned and ready for preparation if someone wants to take on the task of preparing them for the Pot Luck.  I'd do it, but I have trouble pounding abs with a beer in my hand.

I'm bringing my fryer setup along with a big 35 lb jug of oil, tempura, panko, veggies, and seasonings needed for our NCKA style fish frys.  But just like past events, we're relying on everyone for donations of fish fillets to make it work.

Let's catch and release, but keep a few of those tasty stripers for the fryer.

Got about 8.5lbs of skirt steaks BBQ'd up and packed away ready for consumption!  If I land a nice striper, I'll gladly donate it to the fryer!
